Gold Demand 2024:&nbsp;Demand for gold increased four per cent on a year-on-year basis to 1,258.2 tonnes in the April-June period, according to the World Gold Council (WGC).

India's gold demand in value terms rose 20 per cent on an annual basis to Rs 75,470 crore during the January-March period of this year on volume growth as well as a rise in quarterly average prices by 11 per cent.

According to the WGC report, the demand for gold in India during April to June stood at 170.7 tonnes, which is 43% higher than the demand of 119.6 tonnes in the same period of 2021. According to the report, the global demand for gold declined by 8% year-on-year to 948.4. Jewellery demand increased by 49% to 140.3 tonnes. Investment demand increased 20% to 30.4 tonnes.
