Coffee Day selling Tech Park to Blackstone for Rs 3,000 crore

Coffee Day Enterprises Ltd on Wednesday approved selling Global Village Tech Park of its subsidiary Tanglin Developments Ltd in Bengaluru to the US-based private equity firm Blackstone for Rs 2,600-3,000 crore over the next 30-45 days.

The popular retail chain Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) has decided to shut all of its outlets across India on Wednesday in the memory of its founder-chairman VG Siddhartha, who died in Karnataka under mysterious circumstance. A source told IANS that about 1,750 outlets of the company across the country will remain shut for the day.

The Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha, also the son-in-law of former Karnataka Chief Minister SM Krishna, was found dead this morning. Siddhartha's body was recovered about 36 hours after he went missing from a bridge near Mangaluru in Karnataka. The CCD owner had gone missing on Monday evening after which a massive search operation was initiated.
