Kaala box office collection: The movie , which revolves around a Mumbai slum and a tussle of residents with the land mafia there, is doing well at the box office. Rajinikanth as expected has been successful in pulling in the crowds. The film despite some hurdles like protests in Karnataka and arrival of rain in Kerala has logged some big collection numbers. Notably, Kaala collection, according to the latest update, has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.
Kaala box office collection in 3 days has crossed Rs 100 crore in gross revenue at the WW Box Office. This was revealed by film trade analyst Ramesh Bala in a Twitter post. "#Kaala - Ladies, Kids and Family audience are flocking to watch this family entertainer this weekend..Excellent Saturday yesterday at the Box office.. A Strong Sunday is expected today at the Box office all over..," Bala said.
Kaala, on the opening day collected lower than average for a Rajinikanth film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, Chennai saw a spectacular revenue. The flick collected Rs 1.76 crore in revenue on the opening day in the city. This movie has beaten Vijay's Mersal's earlier record of Rs 1.52 crore.
The movie has also crossed $1 million in box office collection in the US. The movie is expected to do well today too. With no rival movie to compete with and a good word of mouth boost, Kaala collection is set to register great opening weekend numbers. Even in the north Indian market it is expected to do well as Rajini has a big fan base there too. It will be clearly revealed by Monday whether Kaala collection will rival Rajinikanth's previous blockbuster movies.
