Stock Market Today: On account of neutral global sentiments, the Indian indices trade sideways throughout the intraday trade and closed around 0.10 per cent lower after the closing bell. The BSE Sensex lost 59 points and closed at 38,310 mark while the NSE Nifty went down 7 points and closed at 11,300 levels. Bank Nifty index went down 67 points and closed at 22,196 mark. Telecom, healthcare, banking and finance and tech stocks were among the sectors that witnessed heavy selloff in the intraday trade session.

Speaking on the current market scenario Avinash Gorakshkar, Head of Research at Profitmart Securities said, "Curent period is of quarterly result announcement and hence there will be more stock specific trends than index specific movement. Hence, the sideways trend in the markets is expected to remain maintained for next few trade sessions as well. Aparft from that, there is second stimulus package expected from the US&nbsp;this week and hence overall trend for the market is bullish."

Telecom stocks received maximum beating in the intraday trade as the BSE Telecom index went down 1.30 per cent. Telecom major Bharti Airtel share price crashed 2.35 per cent, Reliance Communications shares nosedived 5 per cent, shares of OnMobile Global dipped 4.60 per cent, HFCL stock price slipped 5.04 per cent while ITI stock went down 1.19 per cent.

In healthcare sector, Aurobindo Pharma share price crashed 5.64 per cent, Eris Lifesciences shares dipped 4.84 per cent, shares of Natco Pharma tanked to the tune of 4 per cent, Strides Pharma Science stock price slipped 3.39 per cent while Aster DM Healthcare counter went down 2.18 per cent.

Among the major Asian indices, the Japanese Nikkei 225 index shot up 1.78 per cent, South Korean Kospi added 0.21 per cent, Hang Seng shed 0.05 per cent while Shanghai index added 0.05 per cent.

At Wall Strteet on Wednesday, the Dow Jones surged 1.05 per cent, Nasdaq shot up 2.13 per cent, S&amp;P 500 ended up 1.40 per cent higher while SmallCap 2000 closed 0.49 per cent higher.

The ESI Act 1948, encompasses certain health related eventualities that the workers are generally exposed to; such as sickness, maternity, temporary or permanent disablement, Occupational disease or death due to employment injury, resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity-total or partial.&nbsp;Social security provision made in the Act to counterbalance or negate the resulting physical or financial distress in such contingencies, are thus, aimed at upholding human dignity in times of crises through protection from deprivation, destitution and social degradation while enabling the society the retention and continuity of a socially useful and productive manpower.

NTA JEE Exam 2020:&nbsp;The Joint Entrance Examination 2020 (JEE Exam 2020), Mains exam waiting period may be extended further. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to intervene on this issue.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The date for JEE Mains Examination 2020 has been kept for 6 September 2020. The announcement related to further extension of this date may come soon.

Why&nbsp;JEE Exam 2020 could be extended?

This is not the first time that the JEE main examination dates could be extended. It has happened on previous occasion, too. The reason for extension this time is because of UPSC NDA Exam 2020 is falling on the same day. There are thousands of applicants who have filed forms for both the examinations. The possibility of two examinations on the same day is creating new problems for the aspirants.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has said that he has asked the Director General of NTA to ensure that the examination dates for both these exams do not clash.

The aspirants for JEE Main and UPSC NDA examinations had urged the Union Minister to look into the matter.

The requests made by the students has been received by the ministry, Union Minister Pokhriyal said. An appeal has been made with respect to the examination dates of both these exams clashing with each other. The Minister has asked students not to worry about this.

Earlier, the JEE Mains Examination was scheduled to happen between 18 July and 23 July. But, the examinations have been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. The JEE Mains Examination 2020 were later scheduled between 1 September and 6 September.

7th&nbsp;Pay Commission Latest News:&nbsp;Good news for all Defence Civilians. The government has further extended the relaxations for filing the pension claims till 31 May. The deadline for submission of the pension claims has been extended in the wake of a nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement was made in a circular released by the The Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension) Allahabad.

Earlier the relaxation was given on 3 April, 2020.

In case if you have still not filed your pension claims, you have time till 31 May to do it. You can also submit your superannuation/ retiring pension claim where the date of retirement is on or before 31 May 2020 as a soft copy i.e. a scanned copy to PCDA (Pension) Allahabad, the 15 May circular says.

The&nbsp;email can be sent at the address&nbsp;cda-albd@nic.in.

While forwarding scanned copy of pension claims following points may be kept in view:

-- Duly completed scan copy of LPC‐cum‐Datasheet should be supported with scan copies of supporting documents. 
 
-- Scan copy of claim should be in PDF format.

-- Claims where date of retirement is after 31 May 2020 will not be entertained.

-- Claims should be forwarded only through official email id which is registered for HOO CODE.

-- Subject of email will be “ Pension claim‐&nbsp;G1/Civil/ Pensioner name/Date of Retirement”

-- This arrangement is optional for those Head of Offices, who are not in position to forward pension claim in hard copy during lockdown.

Markets today continued where they left off on Wednesday and dropped further in opening trade. Both Sensex and Nifty today opened in the red with the former trading at 30,024.55, down by over 355 points or 1.8 per cent. Nifty in opening trade was down by over 94 points or close to 1 per cent at 8,831.05. However, markets recovered at around 9:45 am from the initial losses and are now trading flat.

The top performers on Sensex in the opening trade on Thursday were Ashoka Buildcon, JK Tyre &amp; Industries, Eclerx Services, Apollo Tyres and Ceat Limited while&nbsp; were the top losers ITI Limited, Hatsun Agro Product, Hexaware Technologies Limited, Balrampur Chini Mills and Gujarat State Petronet.

Now, a mutual fund investor having invested in a fund in the name of a child will have to submit KYC details once he or she becomes an adult.

Speaking on the new KYC norms, Financial Expert Vikas Puri said, "To make investments for children more transparent and monetary transactions a hassle-free exercise, SEBI has changed the KYC norms for mutual fund investment for the minor child. These changes include - once the minor becomes an adult - submission of his or her KYC details has become mandatory. Apart from this, the new bank account of the minor who has turned an adult will also be required while doing the KYC of the child."&nbsp;

Puri went on to add that now parents won't be able to invest from their own bank account. For investing in a mutual fund where the fund is owned by one's minor child, the investment has to be done through the child account of the minor. If there is no child account, then a joint account of either of the parents or both and the child will work.

Vikas Puri said that once the minor child becomes an adult, the status of the mutual fund must be changed. Otherwise, there will be no transaction allowed, neither by the policyholder nor the parent. SEBI guidelines further say that once the minor becomes an adult, the child requires to submit details of one's bank account and a canceled cheque of that lender during the KYC process.&nbsp;

Nokia has launched its first smart TV in India in collaboration with Flipkart. The 55-inch smart TV will go on sale via Flipkart and has "Sound by JBL". The smart TV will be available on the e-commerce platform starting December 10 and the firm will expand the line up of 4K variants in the coming months. SBI Clerk Mains Result 2019: The State Bank of India (SBI) has declared SBI Clerk Final Result at its official website https://sbi.co.in/careers. The candidates who appeared for the mains examination for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support &amp; Sales) in clerical cadre should check their result from the official website. The number of those who qualified in the SBI JA main exam will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective states and categories.

The tentacles of online frauds are not restricted to merely your banking transactions, but they may also cheat you while you are busy ordering your pizza! Yes, they may happen with you, the way one Thaltej resident in Ahmedabad, Gujarat was conned, and he paid a whopping amount of Rs 61,000 for just two pizzas.&nbsp;&nbsp;

According to a TOI report, one Rushay Shah (27) of Thaltej filed a complaint with Vastrapur police for online fraud, wherein, he lost Rs 60,885 from his bank account after he was approached by a man who impersonated a customer service representative of a food delivery application.

The Vastrapur police reportedly said that Shah, who runs a restaurant in Sanand, ordered two pizzas on October 4 from the food delivery app from his wife’s mobile phone. When the pizza arrived, the victim found they were not edible and called the helpline of the delivery app, but failed to receive any answer.

Shah is stated to have got a call from a mobile phone number after sometime and a man asked if he wanted pizzas or his money refunded. Shah is said to have expressed that he wanted fresh pizzas, but the man told him that they had no such policy, rather the money can be refunded.

Shah was told that he would receive a link on which he would have to enter his name, mobile phone number and Google ID, said the report, adding that when Shah entered these details, the man told him to send a particular message to another cellphone number thrice. When Shah sent the message to the given number, he reportedly noticed that Rs 5,000 had been debited from his bank account.

Shah told the man that Rs 5,000 had been deducted from his account but the latter told him that it could not be so. On Sunday night, Shah’s wife also received a call from same man, and his wife connected Shah and Sharma on a conference call, and again the couple were persuaded to send a particular message to another number.

Shah followed the instructions again, Rs 55,885 was debited from his bank account in six transactions, the report said, adding that by the time Shah reminded the man of money being deducted from his account, but the man had disconnected the phone.

Shah then filed a complaint of cheating and breach of trust with Vastrapur, along with charges under the Information Technology Act.
