Vedanta Share Price: Vedanta shares were rising in the morning session on BSE on Tuesday (December 19, 2023) after the company announced the second interim dividend of 1100 per cent. 
The Vedanta stock was higher by 0.69 per cent, or Rs 1.80, at Rs 262.40 at 12:34 pm on Tuesday. The mining firm on Tuesday also approved&nbsp;raising up to 3,40,000 NCDs.&nbsp; &nbsp;

In post market hours on Monday (December 18, 2023), Vedanta announced a second interim dividend of Rs 11 per equity share, or 1100 per cent, on the face value of Rs 1 per equity.

"We wish to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company, in its meeting held today i.e., on Monday, December 18, 2023, has approved the Second Interim Dividend of ₹ 11/- per equity share i.e. 1100% on face value of ₹ 1/- per equity share for the Financial Year 2023-24 amounting to c. ₹ 4,089 Crores," said Vedanta in a statement on Monday.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The council may take up a discussion on the report of a group of ministers on taxation of 'pan masala' and 'gutka' firms and a report by a Group of Ministers (GoM) on setting up of appellate tribunals.

The report by another GoM, chaired by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, for GST levy on online gaming, casinos and horse racing may come up for deliberations.

These three GoM reports were part of the agenda items in the last GST Council meeting, that was held on December 17, 2022.

Indonesian rescuers used jackhammers, circular saws and sometimes their bare hands Tuesday to shift the rubble of flattened buildings as they searched for the dead and missing from an earthquake that killed at least 268 people.

 
With many missing, some remote areas still unreachable and more than 1,000 people injured in the 5.6 magnitude quake, the death toll was likely to rise. Hospitals near the epicentre on the densely populated island of Java were already overwhelmed, and patients hooked up to IV drips lay on stretchers and cots in tents set up outside, awaiting further treatment.

 
Indonesia is frequently hit by earthquakes, many much stronger than Monday's whose magnitude would typically be expected to cause light damage. But experts said the shallowness of the quake and inadequate infrastructure contributed to the severe damage, including caved-in roofs and large piles of bricks, concrete, and corrugated metal. The quake was centered on the rural, mountainous Cianjur district, where one woman said her home started shaking like it was dancing.

 
I was crying and immediately grabbed my husband and children,? said Partinem, who like many Indonesians only goes by only one name. The house collapsed shortly after she escaped with her family. 
If I didn't pull them out, we might have also been victims,? she said, gazing over the pile of broken concrete and timber. 
More than 2.5 million people live in Cianjur district, including about 175,000 in the main town of the same name.

 
The quake struck at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles) and also caused panic in the capital of Jakarta, about a three hour-drive away, where high-rises swayed and some people evacuated. National Disaster Mitigation Agency head Suharyanto, who uses one name, told reporters that 1,083 people were injured and at least 151 missing. But not all of the dead have been identified, so it's possible some the bodies pulled from the rubble are of people on the missing list.

Rescue operations were focused on about a dozen locations in Cianjur, where people are still believed trapped, said Endra Atmawidjaja, the public works and housing spokesperson. We are racing against time to rescue people, Atmawidjaja said.

 
Initial rescue attempts were hampered by damaged roads and bridges and power outages, and a lack of equipment to help move the heavy rubble. By Tuesday, power supplies and phone communications had begun to improve, and Atmawidjaja said that seven excavators and 10 large trucks had been deployed from neighboring areas to clear roads. In the village of Cijedil, the quake triggered a landslide that blocked streets and buried several houses, said Henri Alfiandi, chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency. "We are maximizing operations at several points where it is suspected that there are still casualties. Our team is also trying to reach remote areas", he said.

 
Many of the dead were public school students who had finished their classes for the day and were taking extra lessons at Islamic schools when the buildings collapsed, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said. 
More than 13,000 people whose homes were heavily damaged were taken to evacuation centers, Kamil said, though thousands spent the night in the open fearing aftershocks. 
Cargo trucks carrying food, tents, blankets, and other supplies from the capital, Jakarta arrived early Tuesday in temporary shelters. 
Outside the Cianjur Regional Hospital, hundreds waited for treatment. 
"I was working inside my office building. The building was not damaged, but as the quake shook very strongly, many things fell. My leg was hit by heavy stuff," said Dwi Sarmadi, who works for an Islamic educational foundation in a neighboring district.

 
He was waiting near a tent outside the hospital after some overwhelmed clinics were unable to see him. Many people were arriving in worse shape. ?I really hope they can handle me soon,? he said. 
Hasan, a construction worker who uses one name, was also taken to the hospital. "I fainted. It was very strong,"&nbsp;Hasan recalled. "I saw my friends running to escape from the building. But it was too late to get out, and I was hit by the wall."

 
President Joko Widodo visited Cianjur on Tuesday and pledged to rebuild infrastructure, including the main bridge connecting Cianjur to other cities, and to provide government assistance up to 50 million rupiah ($3,180) to each resident whose house was damaged. 
"On behalf of myself and on behalf of the government, I would like to express my deep condolences to the victims and their families in this Cianjur earthquake," he said after visiting survivors in shelters on a soccer field.

 
The country of more than 270 million people is frequently struck by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis because of its location on the arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Basin known as the Ring of Fire.

In February, a magnitude-6.2 earthquake killed at least 25 people and injured more than 460 in West Sumatra province. In January 2021, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake killed more than 100 people and injured nearly 6,500 in West Sulawesi province.

Odisha Cyclone News: The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar stated on Wednesday that it has not issued any kind of forecast for cyclone so far. And the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)'s regional centre also advised people of Odisha not to pay heed to rumours.&nbsp;

According to IMD Director General Dr. Mrutunjay Mohapatra, there is no cyclone threat for Odisha in the next seven days. "A cyclonic circulation has formed over the north Andaman Sea yesterday, which is gradually weakening. There is a likelihood of the formation of another similar system around October 17-18. Today's forecast indicates a concentration of the system into low pressure. According to our analysis, there are no chances of intensification of the system into a cyclone," he told Odia news channels.

The Meteorological Centre also took Twitter to quash cyclone rumours. "The India Meteorological Department has not made any forecast on the cyclone or even given any indication in this regard. Please keep away from rumours," the IMD's regional centre tweeted.

The weather agency stated that making predictions about any weather condition seven days in advance is not scientific, said PTI. "We are working 24 hours a day to provide accurate weather-related information. So please stay away from rumours," it said.

Odisha is not in any danger, Dr. Mohapatra told the news channel. He also added that IMD is known for its 'pinpoint' accuracy in cyclone prediction, said PTI.

Senior weather scientist Umashankar Dash said "The IMD has just indicated the formation of cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal between October 14 and October 20. All cyclonic circulations do not take the shape of cyclone."

Bharat Gears in an exchange filing informed that its board of directors has recommended the issue of bonus shares. Bharat Gears bonus share ratio is 1:2, meaning 1 bonus share will be issued for every 2 shares.

Bharat Gears pre-bonus paid-up share capital was 1.02 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each, aggregating Rs 10.23 crore. After the bonus issue, the paid-up share capital will be 1.53 crore shares of Rs 10 each aggregating, Rs 15.35 crore.

Palm Oil has witnessed a correction of 10% in the BM market since Indonesia has increased the export Quota. Also, this is the season of production in Indonesia and Malaysia, Anand stated in the report. 
 
Palm Oil is at lows of 6.5 month since we witnessed Soya bean rates hitting low in the Chicago market. Correction in Palm Oil, Soya bean Oil, meals has been witnessed by 2-2.5 per cent in the Chinese market. The supply pressure that has been created immensely in the market and dollar index that has been strong, 105 approximately, this too has created a pressure in the market, she further said. 
 
Correction has been seen in the prices of wheat, as well, she added. Bizarre conditions were created in the US market last week. Fear of recession is prevailing all over. The Northern Hemisphere is facing excessive harvest pressure to an extent that even markets which don't produce grains have started to export grains too.``, she said.

They have reduced the export tax. Week by week rates have been reduced by 25-30 dollars. Sanctions are lying down, therefore, no one is there to buy the produce, she further added. 
Wheat prices have witnessed a correction of 11% and closing was seen at a four-month low, she stated.

Maize has hit a 5-month low while raw sugar has hit a 4-month low. 
 
Price of wheat has fallen about 35 per&nbsp;cent from the peak price. Palm Oil has witnessed a correction of 42% from its peak price. Cotton has seen a correction of 32 % from its peak price.7.5 to 11.5 percent of correction has been seen in sugar, maize, soybean."

The official images show the devices to have 48-megapixel quad rear cameras, a side-mounted fingerprint reader for security, and dual-SIM 5G support. Also, the Realme 9 series will have a different design cue. The images show the phones featuring curved body, with a rectangular-shaped camera module.

Moreover, the Realme 9 is confirmed to get a 48-megapixel trio setup assisted by a 2-megapixel depth and a macro sensor. The phone is expected to carry a 6.5-inch display, up to 6GB of RAM, and 128GB storage.

Amid reports of Invesco’s bid to take over Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), India’s Sadhu Samaj and several religious and social organisations have come forward to express serious reservations on the issue.

The Sadhu Samaj clearly stated that the control of the company should remain with founder Dr Subhash Chandra and his family, who have taken care of the numerous television channels for over two decades.

The religious body has appealed to the government, the concerned regulatory institutions such as NCLT and NCLAT, Invesco, the media company behind this indirect bid, Dr Subhash Chandra's family, and the Zee shareholders to sit down and find an amicable solution to this issue.

It further added that the same Zee management, which has faith of crores of viewers, should be allowed to continue as it would be in the interest of everyone.“If this does not happen, we all will appeal in the court of the Almighty, and pray for the proper judgment,” the group said in a statement.

The group alleged that Invesco seems to be working in a non-transparent manner and it is unclear in whose hands the management will go if they are successful in their bid.

Ixigo IPO – Key Details&nbsp;

	<li>Ixigo will be raising Rs 1,600 cr through an initial share sale, a PTI report said.&nbsp;</li>
	<li>The IPO comprises fresh issuance of shares worth Rs 750 cr and an offer of sale (OFS) of equity shares to the tune of Rs 850 crore by existing shareholders, according to red herring prospectus (DRHP).&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Saif Partners India IV to offload shares worth Rs 550 cr as part of OFS; Micromax Informatics to sell shares worth Rs 200 cr and Aloke Bajpai and Rajnish Kumar will divest stakes worth Rs 50 cr each.&nbsp;</li>
	<li>SAIF Partners holds 23.97 per cent in the company, Micromax 7.61 per cent, Aloke Bajpai 9.18 per cent and Rajnish Kumar 8.79 per cent stake in the firm.&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Proceeds of the fresh issue will be used to fund the company's organic and inorganic growth initiatives and for general corporate purposes.&nbsp;</li>
	<li>ICICI Securities, Axis Capital, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Nomura Financial Advisory and Securities are the lead managers to the issue.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>

Launched in 2007 by Aloke Bajpai, Ixigo is headquartered in Gurugram and has a user base of over 250 million, this report said.

In July, Ixigo has raised USD 53 million, through a combination of primary and secondary issuance of shares, from investors, led by Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC.

It has weathered the coronavirus pandemic well and managed to grow despite most travel companies being at under half of FY20 revenues in FY21.

The new season update comes with three new maps, called Suldal Harbor, Docks and Aniyah Incursion. The Suldal Harbor map supports 5v5 and 10v10 gameplay as it is a medium-sized tactical map composed of shipping crates, narrow alleyways and close-quarter interiors.

Docks is a small-sized shipyard on the River Thames, which supports Gunfight only. The map has room for vertical play, with two small covered areas. Aniyah Incursion is a bombed-out palace located over a landscape surrounded by military supplies and housing. The map is supported in 10v10 and Attack of the Undead modes.

The marquee event for season 5 will be Sea of Steel, where the players will have to choose a side: Ghosts or the Federation.
