Film Trade analyst Girish Johar said that the film will cross the Rs 150 crore mark over the weekend. "If the film is appreciated and liked by audiences at large, it will surpass Rs 150 crore mark including earnings from all languages and formats," he said.
The prediction is that the Yash Raj Films produced movie may surpass the collections of other Armir Khan films like Dangal, PK, and 3 Idiots. The film is reportedly Yash Raj Films’ most expensive project ever with a budget of close to Rs 200 crore. However, the film is expected to recover this cost very soon if all goes according to script.

While that is for BO performance, Thugs of Hindostan is expected earn Rs 140 crore from the sale of rights to the film—both to a digital platform and satellite television, according to Mint. As Amazon Prime Video and Sony Pictures Networks has long-term partnership with Yash Raj Films, they will get the rights to the film for Rs 60-70 crore each.
The movie is to be released across 5,000 plus screens country-wide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions on November 8, 2018. Thugs of Hindostan portrays a struggle for freedom against East India Company rule. Since the film is going to release day after Diwali, it is expected to grab even more eyeballs.
