Most stock markets in the Gulf rose on Monday with cooler-than-expected US inflation data supporting the view that the Federal Reserve could cut borrowing costs in the new year.

Last week's Commerce Department report showed US prices fell in November for the first time in more than 3-1/2 years, pushing the annual increase in inflation further below 3 per cent.

Monetary policy in the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is usually guided by the decisions of the Federal Reserve, as most regional currencies are pegged to the dollar.

Saudi Arabia's benchmark index (.TASI) advanced 1.1 per cent, buoyed by a 2.6 per cent rise in Al Rajhi Bank (1120.SE) and a 1.8 per cent gain for auto rental firm Lumi (4262.SE).

Dubai's main share index (.DFMGI) eased 0.1 per cent, hit by a 0.9 per cent fall in blue-chip developer Emaar Properties (EMAR.DU).

The Dubai stock market was constrained within the trading levels of recent days, noted Daniel Takieddine, CEO MENA at BDSwiss.

"The market could be exposed to some price correction risks after a small rebound," he said.

The Qatari benchmark (.QSI) closed 0.5 per cent higher, rising for a seventh session, with Qatar Islamic Bank (QISB.QA) gaining 1 per cent and sharia-compliant lender Masraf Al Rayan (MARK.QA) up 2 per cent.

"The market could turn to price corrections if traders move to secure their gains," Takieddine said. "Uncertainty regarding developments in energy markets could also remain a source of risk."

Outside the Gulf, Egypt's blue-chip index (.EGX30) rose 1.6 per cent, led by a 3.6 per cent increase in top lender Commercial International Bank (COMI.CA).

Most stock markets in the Gulf rose on Monday with cooler-than-expected&nbsp;US&nbsp;inflation data supporting the view that the Federal Reserve could cut borrowing costs in the new year.

TCS CEO Resigns, TCS CEO Name: Outgoing Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) CEO Rajesh Gopinathan on Friday described his stint with TCS as wonderful and that "there couldn't be a better time to move on". Addressing the media a day after stepping down as the CEO&nbsp;of India's largest IT services provider, he said that&nbsp;TCS has been built on pillars of customer centricity and employees who have always committed and given their best to the company. Gopinathan said that he will be available to CEO-designate K Krithivasan 100 per cent during the transition period.&nbsp;

"I asked myself if not now, will there be a better time, as I have been having discussions with N Chandrasekaran (chairman of Tata Sons) off and on," he said. "I don't expect this transition to be very dramatic," he added.

Gopinathan on Thursday resigned just a year into his second five-year term at the helm of the company. Gopinathan was re-appointed last year as the Indian IT behemoth's CEO till 2027. He would leave TCS in September to pursue other interests. Gopinathan has been with TCS since 2001 and has held multiple leadership positions, including that of chief financial officer. Under his leadership, TCS shares nearly tripled in value and revenue almost doubled and profit zoomed about 60 per cent, as of last quarter.

Gopinathan said that the choice of Krithivasan was driven by the board and N Chandrasekaran, "they looked at a variety of candidates and felt Krithi was the best fit".

Responding to a Zee Business question on the biggest challenge he will go through, CEO-designate K Krithivasan, said, "Every time there is a change in the market, it gives new opportunity. We will not make any changes and continue to focus on core principles."

"I don't expect or you should expect to see great strategy change or organisational change coming in in future immediately," he said.

TCS has named K Krithivasan as CEO-designate, effective March 16. He would take over as CEO and managing director in the next financial year, subject to shareholders' approval. He had joined TCS in 1989 and has held various leadership roles in the company.

The move comes as the Indian IT industry faces a challenging macroeconomic environment in its key markets of Europe and the United States while also coming under renewed focus due to its big exposure to the US banking sector, which is currently experiencing a financial crisis.

Tata Technologies IPO: Tata Technologies, a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has filed a draft red herring prospectus with the capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to raise funds via IPO, according to Zee Business channel report. Currently, Tata Motors holds 74.69 per cent stake in Tata Technologies.&nbsp;While Alpha TC Holdings Pte has 7.26 percent stake in the Pune headquartered company, Tata Capital Growth Fund I holds 3.63 per cent stake.

Tata Technologies' IPO could mark the first time in nearly two decades that the Tata Group has gone public. Tata Play, a direct broadcast satellite service provider, is also set to file offer documents with the market regulator soon.

In December last year, Zee Business had reported about Tata Motors' plan to partially divest its equity shares in Tata Technologies Limited through an initial public offering route. The IPO Committee of Tata Motors had accorded its in-principle approval for divesting the stake.

IRB Infra Share Price: Shares of highways infrastructure developer IRB Infrastructure Developers crashed 14 per cent a day after hitting a fresh 52-week high after a 10:1 split. The counter opened at Rs 31.85 on NSE, down 10 per cent from the previous close of Rs 34.05. It quoted at Rs 29.60 around 1 PM.&nbsp;

The shares of the Mumbai-based company traded ex-split yesterday and touched an adjusted 52-week high of Rs 34.90. It has gained 19 per cent in the last two sessions. The new face value of each share of IRB Infra after the split is Re 1.&nbsp;

"The rationale behind the stock split is to enhance the liquidity in the capital market, to widen shareholder base and to make the shares more affordable to small investors," the company said.

Meanwhile, Zee Business panellist and market expert Sumeet Bagadia recommended buying the shares of the company for a target of Rs 36.

Domestic brokerage firm Motilal Oswal said that IRB’s order book is strong at Rs 191 billion. It received the appointed date for the Ganga Expressway project during 3QFY23. As some of these large projects move into execution, "we expect EPC growth to improve going ahead".&nbsp;

Anand Rathi said that the management, citing healthy prospects, is sanguine of adding to keep growing. The toll division continues to benefit from rising traffic and periodic rate-revisions. On the reassuring outlook, "we retain Hold rating on asset sale and raised estimates".

The company in the October-December quarter reported a whopping 94 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 141.35 crore from Rs 72.68 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Its total toll collection in January also jumped 36 per cent to Rs 374.81 crores as against Rs 276.44 crores in January 2022.

In another related development, the company has been selected as the preferred bidder for the Rs 2,132 crore build-operate-transfer (BOT) project in Gujarat.&nbsp;The project with a concession period of 20 years is 6 laning of the 90.90 kms stretch between Samakhiyali to Santalpur.

PVR INOX Merger Record Date, Ratio: Shares of PVR and INOX Leisure are in focus as today, February 17, is the record date for the Scheme of Amalgamation between the two multiplex operators.&nbsp;PVR in a regulatory filing informed that the Scheme of Amalgamation between INOX Leisure Limited and PVR Limited has become effective upon a nod granted by the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). Notably, the two multiplex operators had in January received approval from the NCLT for the proposed merger.

"Board of Directors of INOX Leisure Limited, the “ILL Committee of Board of Directors for Operations” of INOX Leisure Limited in mutual agreement with the Company have fixed February 17, 2023 as the ‘Record Date’ for the purpose of determining the shareholders of INOX Leisure Limited to whom equity shares of the Company would be allotted, pursuant to the Scheme," PVR said in a BSE filing.

The record date will be used by PVR to determine the eligibility of shareholders of INOX Leisure to whom equity shares of the company would be allotted, pursuant to the scheme.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, shares of PVR and Inox were trading almost flat on the NSE at Rs 1,706 and Rs 507, respectively, around 9:30 AM.

INOX shareholders would get 3 shares of PVR for 10 shares held in the company.

PVR and INOX Leisure had in March 2022 announced the merger to create the largest multiplex chain in the country. Once the merger takes effect, PVR-Inox will have a network of more than 1,500 screens.

The combined entity will be named PVR INOX Limited. The branding of existing screens will remain as PVR and INOX.

Step 4: The applicant must mention their email ID in the form.

Step 5: Later ask the operator to enrol you as NRI

Step 6: The NRI applicant is also required to sign a declaration while applying for the Aadhar card. The declaration is a little bit different for NRIs, hence read carefully and fill it out.

Step 7: Assist the operator in filling in all the details of you as NRI

Step 8: Your passport will be scanned and submitted in the application by the operator as proof of identity.

Step 9: Get your fingers and eyes scanned to finish the biometric capture process.

Step 10: Go through the filled details in the application form. NRI applicants are required to thoroughly check the details.

Step 11: The filling process is completed, receive the acknowledgement slip which mentions the applicant’s 14-digit enrollment ID and Date and Time stamp.

Paytm Share Price: Paytm shares on Thursday tanked around 9 per cent intraday on the back of a series of block deals. According to exchange data, as many as 19.20 million shares of One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, changed hands.

Paytm stocks opened at Rs 574.9 on NSE, down nearly 1 per cent from the previous close of Rs 579.15. The selling pressure dragged the counter to the day's low of Rs 528.10, crashing 9 per cent. At 3 PM, the scrip quoted Rs 544 apiece on NSE.

This is the steepest fall in Paytm share price since November 22 when the stock sank 12 per cent.

According to technical analyst Nilesh Jain, investors should stay away from Paytm. He, however, said that from a trading perspective, one can take a position for a target price of Rs 600.

Paytm share price has fallen by over 70 per cent from the IPO issue price of Rs 2,150.

In another related development, the fintech company recently informed stock exchanges about its Q3 performance update ahead of the October-December quarter results. The company disbursed 3.7 million loans worth Rs 3,665 crore (USD 443 million, y-o-y growth of 330 per cent). The number of loans disbursed during the month was up 117 per cent.

Meanwhile, brokerage firm Morgan Stanley said that Paytm will be a key beneficiary of the government's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) incentive scheme. The government recently approved the incentive scheme of Rs 26 billion for the promotion of RuPay Debit Cards and low-value BHIM-UPI transactions (P2M) for FY23, compared with Rs 15 billion in FY22.

Green Hydrogen Mission India: The government will bring in a production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme to give impetus to manufacturing of green hydrogen, Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, told Zee Business in an exclusive interaction.

The government also announced that incentives will be given for 5 years for manufacturing electrolysers.&nbsp;

The mission targets setting up of at least 5 million metric tonnes per annum of green hydrogen capacity with an associated renewable energy capacity of about 125 GW by 2030.

"Two distinct financial incentive mechanisms will be provided under the Mission -- targeting domestic manufacturing of electrolysers and production of green hydrogen. Detailed criteria will be issued soon so that companies can bid," he said, adding that the selection of companies will be done on the basis of guidelines.

When asked about the name of companies that have shown interest in participating in the mission, he said that around 7-8 companies have shown keen interest in manufacturing green hydrogen. "They have identified 7-8 locations as well and a few companies are also signing MoUs with states."

The mission will be headed by the cabinet secretary and an empowered group of secretaries. The nodal department for the mission will be the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Power and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh has said that it will make India a leading producer and supplier of green hydrogen in the world. In a meeting with stakeholders on Thursday, he said that the mission would result in attractive investment and business opportunities for the industry, and contribute significantly to India's efforts towards decarbonisation and energy independence.

MTAR manufactures electrolyzers and hydrogen boxes that are required for the production of green hydrogen.&nbsp;

Another important factor that is favour of the company is that it supplies products such as hot boxes, hydrogen boxes and electrolysers to Bloom Energy. According to the company's website, it supplies products to the US-based Bloom Energy with which it has been associated with for over 9 years. Singhvi said that the company's 50 per cent revenue comes from Bloom Energy which is a leading green energy company in the world. Also, NASA is the preferred partner of Bloom Energy.

Singhvi said that MTAR's valuation is cheap and that its order book can rise 7-8 times. He suggested Zee Business viewers buy the shares of MTAR Technologies for long term and add on every dip.
