Budget to be presented on February 1: Govt official

Union Budget 2017 will be presented on February 1, 2017, a government official confirmed on Tuesday.
Speaking in New Delhi, a government official said that the government may hold the first part of the budget session from January 31 to February 9. The economic survey will be presented on January 31, the official said.
Centre has advanced the budget date which is generally presented at the end of February.
Media reports said that planned meetings of budget finalisation committee were called 15 days early from the scheduled to catch up with the revised dates.
Finance department had earlier said that it has advanced its pre-budget meetings with various stakeholders and the plan was already underway.
