Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The announcement of the dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by the Election Commission of India (ECI) has set the stage for the biggest political event in five years as the world's largest democracy prepares to go into polls. The general elections will be held in seven phases to elect a new government at the Centre, as the term of the 17th Lok Sabha expires on June 16.

Lok Sabha elections 2024 Phase 1

The first phase of voting, covering 21 states and Union Territories, will be carried out on April 19. It will fill as many as 102 seats across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.

Lok Sabha elections 2024 Phase 2

The second phase of elections, spanning 13 states and UTs, will take place on April 26. It will cover 89 constituencies in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Lok Sabha elections 2024 Phase 3

The third phase of polling, to fill a total of 94 seats in 12 states and UTs, will take place on May 7. These constituencies are in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Jammu and Kashmir.
