Passenger train derails in UP's Bijnor, investigation underway

A passenger train on Najibabad to Aligarh route got derailed in UP's Bijnor on Feb 18. Rescue department rushed to the spot immediately after the incident was reported. The train was derailed due to shunting process. No injuries have been reported so far, further investigation is underway.

Uttar Pradesh Board exams commenced from February 18 for class 10 and class 12. While speaking to media in Rampur on February 18, the Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel spoke on UP board examination. She said, "Students should read the entire question paper peacefully and attempt the question which they know the best. They should not look here and there." "Students should utilise their 3 hours properly," UP Governor added.

Locals gathered in Mumbai, Chennai to witness the solar eclipse on December 26. People across the world witnessed the last solar eclipse of 2019. A solar eclipse occurs, when the moon comes in between the earth and the sun and when all the three bodies are aligned. Speaking to ANI, a local said, "Arrangements were made for locals to witness the eclipse. Several school students have also gathered to witness the same."

There are cute cartoons ‘rakhis’ of ‘Chhota Bheem’ and ‘Minions’ and especially designed ‘toy rakhis’ for kids. The main highlights of the sale are ‘Modi rakhis’. A developed low pressure system located over north Madhya Pradesh and south Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning is gradually weakening. However related troughs continue to persist over north central India and northeastern India. The trough leads to instability and brings heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha on Saturday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are also likely over Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.

It was a first initiative, started by LMC in front of India Hotel in UP’s Lucknow. Its purpose is to recover the outstanding amount at the earliest from the defaulters. Lucknow Municipal Corporation hopes that after starting this new campaign, the defaulters will show interest in filling house tax at the earliest.

A latest circular has come into force, which now restricts visitors to spend more than 3 hours at the iconic monument. Turnstile gates have been introduced to watch over time spent by tourists. "7 turnstile gates have been installed at both the East and West entry point. 5 gates are for the exit. For the entry of foreign tourists, there are separate gates. Entry is only through token which is valid for three hours, exceeding which, a visitor is required to recharge it at the counter at the exit gates," said Basant Kumar, superintendent, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Tourists are dismayed by the new rules, asserting that it would cost heavily on tourism.
