Good news for iPhone users as Apple increases the cellular download limit

Apple has decided to break the stereotype for iPhone users by making it easy to download thick apps, which were earlier possible only over Wi-Fi. 9to5 Mac spotted that Apple has increased the cellular download limit for iPhone and iPad from 150 MB to 200 MB. Now, users can download games, apps, video podcasts, or more that are slightly heavier. In the test download, the App Store allowed compressed app over the said limit. For example, one can probably successfully download a game over the cellular limit that is listed at 240 MB but while downloading, the version that is downloaded is below the 200 MB limit as it removes the irrelevant assets.

But, even if you had an unlimited data pack and you're willing to incur the data charges of downloading an app, video or podcast with a large file size - there was no working around this limit. Also, there was no way to opt out of the limit, which was frustrating for most users. This has now reportedly changed.

Apple has recorded its revenue of USD 58 billion in the first quarter this year. It is a slight decline of 5 per cent from last year. However, the company reached an all-new high in terms of services revenue. If you love Dark Mode, Apple is going to make it available with system-wide support in its upcoming iOS 13 update. The software update is expected to bring a full dark mode to iPhone and iPad, 9to5 Mac reports. It will also include a high contrast version. The features also include iPad interface updates and a new Home screen. Apple is expected to introduce its iOS 13 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 3, 2019.
