After Tuesday's rise of 340 points, there was flat trading in Dow Jones yesterday. On the other hand, the NASDAQ fell 2% due to poor results. Alphabet, Microsoft's results disappointed. Meta shares lost 18%. Today the results of Apple, Amazon will be monitored. ECB policy will come today, 0.75% hike is expected.

There are mixed cues from the global markets. US markets again rosed amid volatility. Dow Jones closed up 50 points amid trading in the range of 300 points. Dow Jones recovered by 225 points from lower levels, while the Nasdaq closed with a gain of 1.6%. Tesla results were better than expected. United Airlines lost 6% on weaker-than-expected results. Apart from this, the policy of Bank of Japan and ECB will be monitored today. Results for AT&T and American Airlines will be out today.

Euro zone banks may get reprieve until 2021 from ECB bad debt rules

According to the guidelines, banks will have two years to fully provision for soured non-secured debt, while in the case of secured loans the deadline will be seven years. The new guidelines were intended to take effect on Jan. 1 but the bank pushed back its deadline to revise the proposal after fierce criticism, particularly from Italy, whose banks have accumulated more bad debt that most in Europe.
