Step 5: Log in using your UAN and password.
Step 6: After logging in, the account balance will appear on the screen.
UMANG application
Employees can also check their EPF balance by using the UMANG application, also known as the m-Sewa application of EPFO.
Step 1: Open the UMANG app on your device, and on the homepage, click on the "EPFO" option.
Step 2: Tap on the "Member" option, followed by the "Balance/Passbook" option.
Step 3: Now, enter your UAN and registered mobile number.
Step 4: After OTP verification, the updated EPF balance will appear on the screen.
Other ways to check your EPF balance
Apart from using the EPFO official portal and UMANG app, one can also use SMS or missed calls to check their balance in the EPF account.
SMS
The EPF subscribers can also check their account balance by sending an SMS to 7738299899. The text message should be in this format: "EPFOHO-UAN (language code)." In the place of language code, you can write "ENG" if their preferred language is English, or write "HIN" for Hindi. Also, one can opt for other languages like TAM (Tamil), MAR (Marathi), or BEN (Bengali).
Missed call
One can check their EPF balance by simply giving a missed call to 011-22901406 using the registered mobile number. It is important that an employee's UAN number be linked with their KYC details to use this service. After giving a missed call on the said number, the EPF balance will come in a message format, containing all the details along with the balance amount.
