Stocks to Track on May 28, Stocks in News: At 7:57 am, GIFT Nifty traded higher by 0.19 per cent or 43.5 points at 23,025, suggesting a positive opening for the markets today. Domestic equity benchmarks finished a volatile session barely in the red but off record highs registered in intraday trade on Monday, as fag-end selling pressure in energy, auto and FMCG shares outweighed buying interest in financial stocks. While the Nifty50 lost 24.7 points, or 0.1 per cent, for the day to settle at  22,932.5, the Sensex shed 19.9 points to 75,390.5, after crossing the 76,000 and 23,100 levels for the first time ever during the session. 

All eyes are on the next session on Dalal Street, with a bunch of stocks set to be in focus including Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), CMS Info Systems, and Trident.

Telecom companies to pay GST along with spectrum instalments

Telecom companies will have to pay Goods and Services Tax (GST) along with the instalments towards spectrum charges, news agency PTI reported citing a senior official.

 

 

The Department of Telecom (DoT) is all set to hold the next round of spectrum auction on June 6 for eight bands meant for mobile phone services, with a base price of Rs 96,317 crore. The spectrum will be assigned for 20 years and successful bidders will be allowed to make payments in 20 equal annual instalments in the mega auction.
