Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Latest: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 10th instalment of financial benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on 1st January 2022 via video conferencing. This enabled the transfer of an amount of more than Rs 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.

During the programme, the Prime Minister also released an equity grant of more than Rs 14 crore to about 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit more than 1.24 lakh farmers.PM KISAN is a government scheme with 100 per cent funding from the Government of India. Started in December 1, 2018, the scheme promises income support of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments to small and marginal farmer families, having combined land holding/ownership of up to 2 hectares.&nbsp;

The Central government paid another instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi on May 14, 2021, to support the farmers. About Rs 19,000 crore have been transferred directly to the bank accounts of farmers, the government on May 14 announced. It will directly benefit about 10 crore farmers.

This amount is proving to be of great use to these farmer families in these trying circumstances. So far, about Rs 1,35,000 crore have reached about 11 crore farmers of the country under this scheme. That is, more than Rs 1,25,000 crore directly into the accounts of the farmers and without any middleman. Out of this, more than Rs 60,000 crore have been transferred to the farmers’ accounts in the Corona period alone.

The transfer of the amount to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries can take few days’ time and to ensure this farmer can check the PM-KSNY instalment, status, list, etc.

The Union Budget 2022-23 is expected to be presented by the Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, 2022. Apart from providing adequate financial support to MSMEs, we expect the government to introduce reforms around import substitutes which will boost domestic manufacturing and promote self-reliance. To achieve this, the MSMEs also need to indigenously design and develop products.

“However, it lacks the adequate technical capability to do so. This reason is the absence of an overarching indigenization policy framework. For the upcoming budget, the government should formulate a policy that focuses on indigenization in high priority technology areas, thereby allowing MSMEs to design products that are globally competitive, he said.

Incorporating sustainability practices in the economic revival of the country is also necessary. While the government has taken steps to promote the adoption of renewable energy in the country, it is also necessary to make green energy an integral part of the policies being announced for MSMEs. This will not only create a sustainable economy and generate new jobs in the segment but will also decrease India’s reliance on energy imports, Gupta added.

“To spur production of engineering products especially positive displacement pumps, PLI scheme spectrum should be enhanced to include the same which would bring some relief measures for manufacturers like us. Further, mid-sized companies have always been a strong demand driver for the pump industry, so incentivizing MSMEs through tax benefits on the purchase of indigenous pumps and other components, will further give a boost to the industry,” Gupta said.

He said: “As export incentives have been lowered, there is a need for trade policy to focus on encouraging MSMEs to move beyond domestic borders. This will help in positioning India as a leader in the global marketplace. Finally, the packages rolled out under the Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme have facilitated and incentivized job creation, providing much-needed relief to the economy. This must continue in the upcoming budget as well.”

With the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Urban 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0, the government of India has shown its commitment towards addressing India's critical WASH infrastructure deficit as it urbanizes. Improving access to water sanitation and scientific management of solid and liquid wastes generated in urban areas form very critical constituents of India's climate and sustainable development goal commitments.&nbsp;

In the last 5 years, urban India has seen nearly 500 FSTP creations across the country to treat black water to combat environmental pollution. While the sludge is disposed of at the safe site and treated to meet environmental standards, now the focus of the program needs to shift to monitor the effectiveness by carrying out outcome-based monitoring for improved health and environmental outcomes which both SBM Urban and AMRUT aim to achieve.&nbsp;

Speaking on the expectations from Budget 2022 on the sanitisation, Anindita Mukherjee, Associate Fellow, Centre of Policy Research said that this budget we expect the focus for both these large-scale infrastructure programmes shifts from mere output-based monitoring to a more robust outcome-based one.&nbsp;

"Specifically, the SBM Urban witnessed higher budgetary allocation and expenditure, while it specifically targeted improving toilet access across the urban areas in the first phase. However, since 2019-20, the allocation, as well as expenditure, has witnessed a sustained decrease. With the COVID-19 induced multiple waves faced across the country, the renewed importance of improving in-house access to water supply and toilets, efficient and effective management of solid and liquid waste is being felt," she added.&nbsp;

With higher allocation the national government will send a crucial direction to the states for prioritizing mitigatory investments in the face of the ongoing pandemic, which will have a profound impact on public health at large, while significantly reducing the disproportionate burden on the urban poor, she added.&nbsp;

"While wastewater treatment got mainstreamed based on increased policy focus over the past 4-5 years, continuous innovation and monitoring impacts will form crucial inputs to the journey forward. Setting up monitoring mechanisms in consultation with the States for temporal monitoring of pollutant load on surface water, groundwater as well as soil and human health outcomes will help engagement of other states and cities," Mukherjee said.

Further, promotion of the use of recycled water in construction activities whether real estate or other public infrastructure will form a crucial part of switching to the circular perspectives and resource-efficient solutions, she concluded.&nbsp;

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi news: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 10th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on 1st January 2022.&nbsp; This enabled the transfer of an amount of more than Rs 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.

During the programme, the Prime Minister also released an equity grant of more than Rs 14 crore to about 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit more than 1.24 lakh farmers. Under the PM-KISAN Scheme, benefits are transferred in three, four-monthly periods. In every four months period, Rs 2000 is transferred to eligible farmers families. Therefore, benefits of Rs 6000 is transferred annually.

PM KISAN is a government scheme with 100 per cent funding from the Government of India. Started in December 1, 2018, the scheme promises an income support of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments to small and marginal farmer families, having combined landholding/ownership of up to 2 hectares.&nbsp;

The PM-KISAN Scheme benefits are not transferrable every month. The benefits are transferred in three installments. The cumulative number of PM-KISAN Scheme transactions which have failed since its launch till June 2021 is 40,16,867. The number of total transaction made under PM-KISAN Scheme till 30th June 2021 is 68,76,32,104 of which the total number of failed transaction is less than 1 per cent, as per the PIB.

Various reasons have been identified by the Union Government for the transactions failure under PM-KISAN Scheme such as account closed/transferred, invalid IFSC, account inactive, account dormant, amount exceeds limit set on account by bank for credit/debit per transaction, account holder expired, account blocked or frozen, inactive aadhaar, network failure etc.&nbsp;

To tackle the issues of transaction failures and process the payment to such registered farmers’ families, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been developed and issued to States/UTs for necessary action at their end.&nbsp; In cases where the corrective measures are to be taken by States/UTs, such transaction failure records are opened to respective State/UT for correction under the “Correction Module” tab of PM-KISAN portal. Thereafter, all the transaction failure records are reprocessed for the payment of the respective installment under PM-KISAN Scheme.

Also, the government has classified the definition of family for the scheme is husband, wife and minor children. State Government and UT administration will identify the farmer families which are eligible for support as per scheme guidelines. The fund will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. There are various exclusion categories for the scheme.

Similarly, Arnab Basumallik, Director – Government Affairs, Edwards Lifesciences, also stated his expectations from the 2022 Budget, “In the Union Budget 2021, the finance minister launched - 'Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana', with an outlay of about Rs 64,180 crore over 6 years, with a promise that "Progressively, as institutions absorb more, we shall commit more”. This year, we eagerly wait for the complete funding to be announced, to reach the targets set in the National Infrastructure Pipeline 2020, to build 73 new medical colleges. This move will help us to reach United Nations Sustainable development goal 3 of Universal and quality Healthcare for all, which is also India’s goal as per National Health Policy 2017. Further, this initiative will also enhance the Indian Medical device market, which is presently only 1.6 % of the global market, as per KHIT-DOP report, eventually attracting investment and employment in the sector."

He further added, “Presently, India has a high medical device import dependency of 86% as per Pharma Bureau and NITI Aayog report. However any other developing or even developed nations also have a similarly high import dependency. But, contrary to other developed and developing nations, where import duty on medical devices is between 0-5 percent, the duty plus cess is 13.75% in India. We look forward that the word “ad valorem” is dropped from the newly imposed Health Cess Ad valorem of 5% so that it becomes a cess of Basic Customs duty only. This will increase patient affordability and help industry spend on up-skilling the health care workers which in turn will improve the medical device eco-system and attract further investment.”

Skoda India aims to treble its sales this year over 2021, on the back of new product launches and enhanced the number of customer touchpoints across the country, a senior company official said.

Czech automaker said the year 2022 is slated to be the biggest year ever since its entry into the Indian market in 2001. With a focused market strategy built around its consistent product launch campaigns, target on enhancing the after-sales and customer satisfaction drivers and increasing its network presence across the country, ŠKODA AUTO India plans to triple its annual sales volumes in 2022 and further build on the positive momentum created last year.

From 10,387 cars sold in 2020, ŠKODA AUTO India achieved a triple-digit growth of 130% with 23,858 units sold in 2021. For 2022, ŠKODA AUTO India aims to triple the 2021 sales volumes, keeping the mid-term target of 1,00,000 units set for 2025. The growth in 2021 and the projection for 2022 are based on the successful implementation of the first leg of the India 2.0 project. A project that involved the development of the MQB A0 IN platform made specifically for India, that formed the base for the launch of the KUSHAQ.

With the start of the new year, ŠKODA AUTO India will be launching the new KODIAQ on January 10, the first of the 6 product actions planned for 2022. New focus areas on the sales front:

The plan is to activate the ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ brand across all outlets in 2022. The brand is seeing a surge in the contribution from rural markets. From around 5% in 2020, the share of sales from rural markets grew to around 10% in 2021. With the rapid network expansion across the country, there will be further contribution from the rural markets in 2022.

Building on the Network Expansion:

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, today approved the scheme on Green Energy Corridor (GEC) Phase-II for Intra-State Transmission System (InSTS) for addition of approximately 10,750 circuit kilometres (ckm) of transmission lines and approx. 27,500 Mega Volt-Amperes (MVA) transformation capacity of substations.&nbsp;

The scheme will facilitate grid integration and power evacuation of approximately 20 GW of Renewable Energy (RE) power projects in seven States namely, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

The scheme is targeted to be set up with total estimated cost of Rs 12,031.33 crore and Central Financial Assistance (CFA) @ 33 percent of the project cost i.e. Rs 3970.34 crore.&nbsp; The transmission systems will be created over a period of five year from Financial Year 2021-22 to 2025-26. The Central Financial Assistance (CFA) will help in offsetting the Intra-State transmission charges and thus keep the power costs down. Thus, the Government support will ultimately benefit the end users — the citizens of India.

The scheme will help in achieving the target of 450 GW installed RE capacity by 2030.

The scheme will also contribute to long term energy security of the country and promote ecologically sustainable growth by reducing carbon footprint. It will generate large direct &amp; indirect employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled personnel in power and other related sectors.

This scheme is in addition to GEC-Phase-I which is already under implementation in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu for grid integration and power evacuation of approx. 24 GW of RE power and is expected to be completed by 2022. The scheme is for addition of 9700 ckm of transmission lines and 22600 MVA capacity of substations having estimated cost of transmission projects of Rs. 10,141.68 crore with Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of Rs. 4056.67 crore.

Moreover, ED-Tech startups, which are forerunners in disseminating skills along with conceptual knowledge, need financial support from the government budget in the form of longer duration tax exemptions and funding support to thrive in the market, he further added.

Finally, the government should announce programs to foster better Internet connectivity infrastructure across the nation that ensures last-mile connectivity, access to affordable 5G devices, and importantly help E-learning players with robust data protection laws, he concluded.

During the programme, the Prime Minister also released an equity grant of more than Rs 14 crore to about 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit more than 1.24 lakh farmers.&nbsp;

Aadhaar number was optional and not mandatory for release of 1st installment pertaining to the period 01.12.2018 to 31.03.2019, whereas only possession of Aadhaar number was made mandatory for release of 2nd installment pertaining to the period 01 .04.2019 to 31 .07.2019. Further, Aadhaar seeding of beneficiaries' data was made mandatory for release of 3rd installment pertaining to the period 01.08.2019, and for subsequent installments onwards.

However, the government has relaxed the mandatory requirement of Aadhaar seeding of beneficiaries' data up to 30.11.2019. This mandatory requirement of Aadhaar seeding of the beneficiaries' data would continue to applicable for release of all installments w.e.f . 01.12.2019. However, Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu &amp; Kashmir, where Aadhaar penetration has not been much, have been given exemption from this mandatory requirement till 31.03.2020.

To avail the 10th instalment, all such farmer families whose names are not included in the list of beneficiaries can approach the District Level Grievance Redressal Monitoring Committee in their Districts for inclusion of their names in the beneficiary list.

Further, the Government has created an exclusive Farmers' Corner in the PM-KISAN web-portal www.pmkisan.gov.in giving the following facilities to the farmers through three separate options / links:

New Farmer's Registration - Through this link, the farmers can submit their details online. The online Form has certain mandatory fields as well self-declaration regarding the eligibility. Once the Form is filled in and submitted successfully by the farmer, the same is forwarded by an automated process to the State Nodal Officer (SNO) for verification. 
&nbsp; 
The SNO verifies the details filled in by the farmer and uploads the verified data on the PM-KISAN portal. Thereafter the data is processed through an established system for payment. 
&nbsp; 
Editing Aadhaar details, through this link the farmer can edit his/ her name himself/ herself as per details in the Aadhaar Card. The edited name then gets updated after authentication through the system. 
&nbsp; 
Beneficiary Status, through this link, by quoting their Aadhaar Number or Bank Account Number or the registered Mobile Number, the beneficiaries can themselves ascertain the status of payment of their installments.

Under the Scheme, a direct payment of Rs 6,000 per year will be transferred in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months into the bank accounts of eligible landholding families. Farmers can check their status on pm kisan online portal www-pmkisan-gov-in or via the mobile app.

The government has classified the definition of family for the scheme is husband, wife and minor children. State Government and UT administration will identify the farmer families which are eligible for support as per scheme guidelines. The fund will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. There are various exclusion categories for the scheme.

On May 14, 2021, the Central government paid another instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to support the farmers. About Rs 19,000 crore have been transferred directly to the bank accounts of farmers, the government on May 14 announced. It will directly benefit about 10 crore farmers.

This amount is proving to be of great use to these farmer families in these trying circumstances. So far, about Rs 1,35,000 crore have reached about 11 crore farmers of the country under this scheme. That is, more than Rs 1,25,000 crore directly into the accounts of the farmers and without any middleman. Out of this, more than Rs 60,000 crore have been transferred to the farmers’ accounts in the Corona period alone.

The transfer of the amount to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries can take few days’ time and to ensure this farmer can check the PM-KSNY instalment, status, list, etc.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) scheme was launched with the view to supplement the earnings of small and medium categories farmers. This scheme coupled with the Digital India initiative has made it possible to reach the PM KISAN benefits to 12 crore farmers in the country.

With a view to augment income of Small &amp; Marginal Farmers, the Govt launched a Central Sector Scheme- Pradhan Mantri KIsan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) to provide financial assistance of up to Rs 6,000 annually to small and marginalised farmers across the country.

Farmers, who have received the eight instalments, don’t have to apply for the 9th instalment. They will receive the 9th instalment in due time directly on their bank accounts. However, farmers, who haven’t got eighth or other instalments, should check their status on pm kisan online portal www-pmkisan-gov-in or via the mobile app. As of now, the government has mentioned August 2021 for the 9th instalment. State-run Oil &amp; Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has appointed Dr Alka Mittal as the Chairman and Managing Director of the company. Mittal, who is the Director, Human Resources at ONGC, has been given an additional charge as the CMD of the company.

Dr Alka Mittal is the first woman to head ONGC. A post-graduate in Economics, MBA (HRM) and Doctorate in Commerce and Business Studies, she joined ONGC as a Graduate Trainee in 1985 and brings with her an extremely rich experience spanning over three decades.

She is also on the board of ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL) as ONGC nominee Director since August 2015.

As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Union Budget for the financial year 2022-23 on 1st February, the Micro, Small &amp; Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector is upbeat that the forthcoming Budget is expected to provide much-needed impetus to the economy.

Sharing his expectations on the Union Budget 2022 for the MSME sector, Rajeev Yadav, MD &amp; CEO, Fincare Small Finance Bank said: “MSMEs are a key contributor to the country’s GDP, employment, and social goals focusing mainly on the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat. Thus, the success of MSMEs with an enabling framework, where banks can engage holistically, is imperative and is the key to self-reliance. This approach will provide a much-required boost and put our country on a multi-year growth trajectory.” &nbsp;

Concern on taxation needs to be addressed within the given fiscal space. “We expect the Budget 2022 to provide the eagerly-awaited tax relief through changes in personal income tax for middle-income households to perk up the consumption. The government needs to push the disinvestment agenda to ensure that it has enough liquidity in its coffers to push consumption demand and restore confidence in the banking system to start lending,” he added.

Yadav further added that Budget 2022 is expected to revolve around incentivizing the use of technology to make India future-ready. The Government should push for an e-identity, e-authentication, and e-payment framework in the form of Aadhaar, e-signature, and AEPS. This will go a long way in boosting financial inclusion and access to credit in the country. A renewed push for digital and support for the ecosystem players such as banks are desirable.

“In FY21, tax revenues have been buoyant, partly due to the nominal GDP growth of 23.9 per cent in the first half of the current fiscal, but also because of better compliance and the increasing formalization of the economy. The economy has rebounded well after the second Covid-19 wave and the government has been talking of a V-shaped recovery. Many of the high-frequency indicators show rapid growth. We are optimistic about the upcoming budget being growth-driven,” the MD &amp; CEO of Fincare Small Finance Bank said.

“We hope the Budget 2022 to offer reforms on reduction in GST, streamlining KYC norms to expand financial inclusion, special SOPs for agriculture and allied industries, land reforms, micro-housing development, and rural town development,” he further added.&nbsp;Additionally, measures in respect to increasing income of rural households. PM-KISAN, for example, is yet to be executed fully. To trigger consumption there is a need to push for work-intensive industries, such as construction, housing, the building of roads, and irrigation frameworks, Yadav concluded.&nbsp;

e-SHRAM Portal Registration: The Narendra Modi government developed e-SHRAM portal for creating a national database of unorganised workers, which will be seeded with their Aadhaar cards. It will have details of name, occupation, address, educational qualification, skill types and family details etc. for the optimum realisation of their employability and extend the benefits of the social security schemes to them. It is the first-ever national database of unorganised workers including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers and others.

More than 16 crore unorganised workers (UW) in the country have already registered under the portal. The registration under the e-SHRAM portal is totally free and workers do not have to pay anything for his or her registration at Common Service Centres (CSCs), or Regional Offices of State Government.&nbsp; They can also directly register through the e-SHRAM portal eshram.gov.in.

Minister for Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav on 26th August launched e-Shram portal and handed it over to the States/UTs in the presence of Rameswar Teli, Minister of State for Labour &amp; Employment and Petroleum &amp; Natural Gas.

This system is being made to register 38 crore unorganised workers. "It will not only register them but would also be helpful in delivering of various social security schemes being implemented by the Central and State Governments,” said the labour minister said.

Step-by Step Registration Process

Step 1: To register the e-SHRAM portal, login to the official website at eshram.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the 'Register on e-SHRAM' link on the home page.

Step 3: Enter the Aadhaar-linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP.

Step 4: Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process.

Please note that if a worker does not have Aadhaar-linked mobile number, then he/ she can visit the nearest CSC and register through Biometric authentication.

The workers should have Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar-linked mobile number and bank account number to register for the e-SHRAM portal.

e-Shram Card Benefits

The central government has developed e-SHRAM portal which will be a centralised database of unorganised workers seeded with Aadhaar. After registering, the worker is entitled to get an Accidental Insurance cover of 2 Lakh under PMSBY. In future, all the social security benefits of unorganised workers will be delivered through this portal. In emergency and national pandemic like situations, this database may be utilised to provide necessary assistance to the eligible unorganised workers.

It is the first-ever national database of unorganised workers including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers and others.

Ola Electric has recorded delivery of 111 S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters till December 30. Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) President Vinkesh Gulati took to Twitter and shared the data from the Centre's Vahan portal.

However, Ola Electric has not come out with the data on its deliveries yet but it has issued a statement mentioning that the Vahan data for December is over 200, and the rest will get updated with a lag.

Ola Electric delivered its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters maximum in Karnataka and its home-base Tamil Nadu. Out of the 111 electric scooters delivered, 60 of them were in Karnataka and 25 in Tamil Nadu, according to a chart shared by Gulati. Maharashtra and Rajasthan are the only two other states to register Ola Electric scooters last month with 15 and 11 units, respectively.

On 31 December, Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder &amp; CEO, Ola Electric updated on December deliveries via tweet that "We’ve dispatched vehicles to ALL who purchased. Some in transit, most already at delivery centres near you getting through RTO registration process. The registration process took longer than we anticipated as a fully digital process is new for all."

Ola has expanded into advanced two-wheeler electric vehicles manufacturing at its Futurefactory. It has already started deliveries of its e-scooters - Ola S1 and S1 Pro.

The Ola electric price starts at Rs 99,999, and the S1 Pro starts at Rs 1,29,999. In states with active subsidy grants, the Ola S1 will be much more affordable than many petrol scooters. After state subsidy in Delhi, the S1 would cost just Rs 85,099, whereas in Gujarat it would be only Rs 79,999.
