NRAI requests govt for financial bailout package for food service sector

Earlier on March 18, NRAI had issued an advisory to all its members to shut down their dine-in operations till March 31, 2020 in view of the serious health risk to millions of employees and patrons in the food service sector due to COVID-19 outbreak in India, the association said in a statement.

CR Chaudhary, Minister of State Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, in a written reply to Lok Sabha said, "As per these guidelines, the bill presented to the customer may clearly display that service charge is voluntary, and the service charge column of the bill may be left blank for the customer to fill up before making payment."
