WhatsApp to stop working on these smartphones in 2019; is yours on list

If you are using a smartphone that operates on older version of some operating systems then you must take note, as popular messaging app WhatsApp is going to stop support for some of these handsets in 2019. As its user-base across the world grows, the popular messaging app finds it resource-intensive and counterproductive to roll out features and updates meant for old and outdated devices.
This step will surely leave some people disappointed as WhatsApp will be pulling support for some of the old devices in 2019, according to a dignited.com report. Over the years, WhatsApp has been dropping support for older devices and operating system.
Here are some devices on which users won’t be able to use WhatsApp from 2019:
Nokia S40: In this device, WhatsApp will be available till December 31, 2018.
Support for Android 2.3.7 and older versions will be terminated from February 1, 2020
Support for iOS 7 and older versions will be terminated from February 1, 2020
You will not be able to create a new WhatsApp account if you use a Nokia Series 40 device. Though you will be able use WhatsApp on the device, some features of the app could stop functioning on the device at any time.
WhatsApp will also stop supporting devices that run Android v2.3.7 and older and iOS 7 and older version by February 2020.
WhatsApp stopped support for BlackBerry 7 and BlackBerry 10 devices in 2017. In June 2018, the messaging app had stopped support for Android versions older than 2.3.3, Windows Phone 8.0 and older, iPhone 3GS/iOS 6, Nokia Symbian S60 and BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10.
For those who want to be well prepared, then they should know that they may purchase devices that run Android 4.0 and above, iOS 8 and above, and Windows Phone 8.1 and above.
