7th Pay commission: Gujarat government has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 3% to be paid to its over 900,000 employees.

7th Pay commission: Much to the relief of these employees, government has taken steps to ensure they have some more money in their wallets. Gujarat government has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 3% to be paid to its over 900,000 employees. This includes retired employees who are drawing pension from the state government. The state government employees at present are earning a DA of 9% which will now be increased to 12% after the announcement.

Deputy chief minister Nitin Patel earlier also announced a hike in salaries of teachers of aided secondary and senior secondary schools. "Now secondary school teachers will get Rs 31,340 and senior-secondary school teachers Rs 38,090 per month.
