D-Street Newsmakers: LIC, IRCTC, Inox Wind among stocks that hogged limelight today

Indian equities in Tuesday's session ended lower amid uncertainty ahead of the poll outcome. Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services believes the underlying earnings growth for the March quarter results so far was largely above expectations, which would likely support the valuation, which is currently moderately above the long-term average.

Indian equities in Tuesday’s trade ended lower amid increasing nervousness ahead of the poll outcome. Nifty at the close ended lower by 0.19 per cent or 44.3 points at 22,888.15, while Sensex fell 0.29 per cent or 220.05 points to 75,170.45 levels. Meanwhile, broader markets also fell sharply with Nifty Midcap 100 ending 0.9 per cent lower.
