Nifty, Sensex trade at record highs; IT, auto shares shine—Wipro top gainer, Coal India top loser
Domestic equity benchmark indices Nifty50 and S&P BSE Sensex continued their winning streak as both indices opened at record highs on Thursday.
11:15 am: 11:15 am: NSE Nifty50 hit yet another high of 18,309.55 after opening at 18,272.85, while Sensex jumped to 61,203.40 around the same time. All Major Nifty indices were trading in the green aound this time, except for Nifty auto, which was down 0.38%. Wipro was leading the Nifty50 pack with over 7% gain, while Coal India dragged it the most. ITC was topping Sensex chart.

IT and auto stocks took the indices to new high as Wipro and Infosys were top gainers on back of relatively good Q2 numbers. It was followed by yesterday index topper Tata Motors
On the Sensex, 27 shares traded in the green, while three declined.
The India markets on Wednesday closed at record high levels, with the Sensex gaining over 450 points or 0.75 per cent at 60,737.5 and the Nifty 50 adding 166 points or 0.94 per cent to 18161.2.
The Asian Markets started on mixed note with the Japanese Nikkei 225 trading in the green with the gains of over 200 points, While the Hang Sang Index at Hong Kong Exchange remained closed amid typhoon fears. On the Wall Street, the S&P 500 gained 13.15 or 0.30% to end at 4,363.80 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 105.71 points, or 0.73%, to 14,5220.127.116.11 (0.30%) on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.53 or 0.0015% to 34,377.81.
