After the successful launch of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train, Indian Railways is soon going to launch a budget-friendly non-AC version of the premium train. The new Vande Sadharan train will be equipped with amenities similar to the Vande Bharat trains and will have upgraded second class and second class sleeper coaches.
According to reports the manufacturing process of Vande Sadharan trains has already begun at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai and is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 65 crore.
Till now, there has been no official confirmation by the Indian Railways regarding its launch time or date, but it is expected that the first non-AC, sleeper Vande Sadharan train will be rolled out by the end of this year.
Vande Sadharan train amenities
The Vande Sadharan trains are expected to have 24 LHB coaches, according to reports. Also, it is being said that coaches will come equipped with modern facilities similar to Vande Bharat trains like bio-vacuum toilets, passenger information systems, and charging points, among others.
For the safety of the travellers, the coaches will also have CCTV cameras.
According to reports, Vande Bharat will not have traditional doors; rather, it will have an automatic door system similar to the Vande Bharat Express.
Often, Vande Bharat train is criticised as it is perceived as an elite service with a higher fare, but with the Vande Sadharan train, the government caters to all sections of passengers travelling in long distance trains.
