The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Tuesday, informed that over 66.4 crore citizens have added their mobile number to their Aadhaar card. UIDAI explains that one can enjoy Aadhaar online services with the help of just an Aadhaar OTP. However, this benefit is only available for citizens who have added their mobile number with their Aadhaar card. Services such as verify the 12-digit biometric, verify registered mobile number or email id, generate virtual id, offline aadhaar verification, lock or unlock biometrics, authentication history and order aadhaar reprint among others can be availed online. Hence, here mobile number linked with Aadhaar comes as a helping hand. Not only this, there are other benefits a citizen can avail by linking their mobile number. Here’s how to add phone number in Aadhaar. 
If you have not registered your Mobile number while enrolling for Aadhaar, you are required to visit a Permanent Enrolment Centre to get it registered. Once you visit enrolment centre, fill out an Aadhaar correction form. This time mention your current usable mobile number. 
Then submit your form and provide biometric authentication. After following this procedure the executive will give you an acknowledgement slip. Now, this slip will contain an Update Request Number (URN). 
URN is 14 digit unique number given to those who have updated their Aadhaar card. This number can be used to track the status of the Aadhaar card. Apart from this, you can also check your Aadhaar update status via UIDAI’s toll-free number 1947.
The moment your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar card, you will start receiving One-Time-Passwords to avail services.
