Earlier, the Northern Railways had devised an action plan to combat foggy season and decided to provide 2,648 fog safety devices in trains to ensure safety and punctuality. A fog safety device is a GPS based equipment which provides advance warning to loco pilots about approaching signal.
However, it appears that commuters will have to bear the burnt of cancelled trains again this year. Due to the fog, the punctuality of the trains is also expected to get affected.
