Steel Authority of India (SAIL): The state-owned steel production company has reported a standalone loss of Rs 1,270 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2020. It had reported a net profit of Rs 69 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations dropped 39% to Rs 9,067 crore as against Rs 14,820 crore posted last year It had posted a negative EBITDA of Rs 403 crore in Q1FY21 as against a positive EBITDA of Rs 1,581 crore posted last year in the same period.
Apollo Hospitals: The healthcare company Apollo Hospitals posted a net loss of Rs 226 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020. It had posted a net profit of Rs 49 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations dropped 15.6% to Rs 2,171 crore as against Rs 2,572 crore posted last year. EBITDA stood at Rs 35.5 crore down 90% from Rs 364 crore posted last year in the same period. The margin dropped to 1.6% in Q1FY21 from 14% posted in Q1FY20. Healthcare business was 41% down, while the pharmacy went up by 21%.
PVR Limited: The entertainment company PVR reported a consolidated profit of Rs 141 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020. It had posted a net profit of Rs 44.2 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations dropped to Rs 12.6 crore in the period under observation against Rs 881 crore posted last year. It posted a negative EBITDA of Rs 116 crore against positive EBITDA of Rs 165 crore posted last year.
NBCC: State-owned NBCC Ltd on Monday reported an 80% year-on-year decline in profit at Rs 10.3 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020. It had posted a net profit of Rs 51.5 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations dropped 64% to Rs 648 crore in the quarter under observation from Rs 1,890 crore posted last year in the same period. It posted a negative EBITDA of Rs 35.5 crore in Q1FY21 compared to positive EBITDA of Rs 27 crore posted in Q1FY20.
Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO): State-owned housing finance company HUDCO on Monday reported a 40% year-on-year decline in profit at Rs 203 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020. It had reported a net profit of Rs 336 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net interest income (NII) dropped 3% to Rs 563 crore in the period under observation as against Rs 580 crore posted last year. Net interest margin (NIM) declined to 2.96% in Q1FY21 as against 3.25% posted in Q1FY20. The company has made provisions of Rs 247 crore in Q1FY21 as against Rs 5 crore provisioned last year in the same period. Disbursement fell by 40% to Rs 2,285 crore in Q1FY21 as against Rs 3,839 crore disbursed in Q1FY20.
GATI: The courier company GATI on Monday reported a loss of Rs 27 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020. It has posted a net profit of Rs 0.72 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The revenue from operations dropped to Rs 164 crore as against Rs 458 crore posted last year.
Munjal Auto Industries: Auto parts company Munjal Auto on Monday reported a loss of Rs 11.3 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2020. It had posted a net profit of Rs 4.4 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations dropped to Rs 213 crore in the period under observation from Rs 301 crore posted last year. It posted a negative EBITDA of Rs 2.35 crore in Q1FY21 as against positive EBITDA of Rs 14 crore posted in Q1FY20.
Indiabulls Housing Finance: The NBFC said on Monday that it has raised about Rs 683 crore through its qualified institutional placement (QIP). QIP had an issue price of Rs 196.37 per equity share, which was at a discount of 5 per cent from the floor price of Rs 206.70 per share. The company has sold a portion of its stake in OakNorth Holding Ltd to an existing sovereign shareholder of the bank for Rs 82 crore. The company had sold a partial stake in OakNorth for Rs 440 crore to private equity investor HighSage Ventures LLC on September 10.
Vedanta: In filing to exchanges the company said due to the ongoing pandemic and other unforeseen circumstances which are beyond the Company's control, the Company is unable to hold its Board Meeting on September 15, 2020, and accordingly we will reschedule the Board Meeting on or before September 30, 2020, for release of Q1 results for which the Company will give the intimation separately in due course.
Sugar stocks in focus: Subsidy rules on sugar export eased. The companies will get 180 days to claim the subsidy instead of 90 days.
