The new Civil Aviation Policy which is likely to get a clearance from the cabinet on Wednesday will make several changes.

Here are 6 key points which may be covered in the 22 chapters of the new Civil Aviation Policy.

1. Regional Connectivity and connecting TIER 2 and TIER 3 cities may b e capped with a fare cost of Rs 2,500 per ticket.

2. Removal of 5/20 norm for international flights and replacing it with points system and minimum aircraft numbers (0/20 rule).

3. Promoting and facilitating India to become a hub for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) for aircrafts. Engineering and maintenance of aircraft could be within India at a competitive price.

4. Promoting air cargo services.

5. Simplification of the purchase of aircrafts, licenses procurement from aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

6. Providing a boost for the operation of smaller or chartered aircrafts to increase tourism.
