Centre Proposes Hefty Hike In Charges At Small Airports

Flying into and out of smaller airports across the country is set to become more expensive as the aviation ministry proposes to hike landing and parking fees by up to 30% and increase user development fees by up to fourfold. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a concept note. In this, suggestions have been sought from all the stakeholders till 28 February.

Government removes cap on airfares with effect from 31 August

"After review of the current status of Scheduled Domestic Operations viz-a-viz passenger demand for air travel in terms of purpose specified in the initial order Order No. 02/2020 dated 21.05.2020, it has been decided to remove the fare bands notified from time to time regarding the airfares with effect from 31.08.2022," notifications said
