Sensex closes down nearly 184 points; Nifty at 68 points

Sensex and Nifty closed negative on Wednesday with Tata Motors pulling the indexes down after posting disappointing results, Reuters reported.

Both the indices opened negative on Wednesday.

The 30-scrip Sensex closed down 0.65% or 183.75 points at 28,155.56 on the BSE.

Similarly, the 50-scrip Nifty closed down 0.77% or 67.60 points at 8,724.70 on the National Stock Exchange.

The Nifty index had fallen as much as 0.90% earlier in the session.
