Railway recruitment 2018: Government job aspirants who have not yet applied for these Railway jobs this year, must complete their application and submit the same before the process ends on March 31. India's largest public sector recruiter Indian Railways is on a massive recruitment drive. The public sector behemoth will conduct exams for about 90,000 posts in group C and group D and for 9,500 jobs in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). With five days still remaining for the online registration to end, the Indian Railways today said it has received over 2 crore applications for about 100,000 vacancies.
According to a PTI report, for assistant loco pilots and technicians alone, over 50 lakh online applications have been received. Examination for the first tranche of the examination is expected be held in April-May. The second trench exam date or month is yet to be declared. There 62,907 vacancies for Group-D Class-IV posts and 26,502 posts for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) & Technicians. Exams to be held in 15 languages: Hindi, English, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Tamil and Telugu Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Assamese, Malayalam.
Educational Qualifications: Candidates have to pass 10th class pass or ITI or equivalent trade for Group C & D Posts and for for Group A & B Posts one has to pass graduate / Post Graduate degree.

General Awareness of Current Affairs
General Intelligence and Reasoning
Syllabus to be covered in the first stage of CBT includes
Mathematics Syllabus: Number System, BODMAS, HCF and LCM, Decimals, Fractions, Ratio and Proportion, Age Calculations, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Percentages, Mensuration, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Statistics, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Square root, Calender and clock and Pipes and Cisterns etc.
General Awareness on Current Affairs: Science and Technology, Economics, Culture, Sports, Personalities, Politics and other subjects of importance.
General Science: The syllabus under this will cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th Standard Level.
General Intelligence and Reasoning Syllabus: Analogies, Coding and Decoding, Alphabetical and Number Series, Relationships, Syllogism, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Jumbling, Conclusions and Decision Making, Classification, Directions, Statement- Arguments and Assumptions among others.
Syllabus to be covered in the second stage of CBT includes
The syllabus for the second stage CBT will have an addition of Basic Science and Engineering, while the syllabus for other subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness will be same as it was in Stage 1 CBT exam.
Sections to be covered in the Basic Science and Engineering exams includes
Engineering Drawing (Projections, Drawing Instruments, Views, Lines, Symbolic Representation and Geometric Figures). Other topics to be covered in the exam are Units; measurements; Mass, Weight, and Density; Speed and Velocity; Work Power and Energy; Basic Electricity; Heat and Temperature; Levers and Simple Machines; Occupational Safety and Health; Environment Education and IT Literacy among others.
Exam pattern for CBTs
First Stage CBT Round: This round is common for both ALP and Technician. The candidates will be asked to answer 75 questions in 60 minutes. The questions will be objective type with multiple choice questions.
