With Ola-Uber cabs off Mumbai roads on the fourth day today, regular users of the app-based cabs in Mumbai are facing a major inconvenience. The drivers of Ola and Uber have now decided to approach the state government with a plea to start a government-run aggregator app for them, said a DNA report.

These drivers will go to the aggregators' offices and protest, prior to approaching the state government. The drivers will then attend a meeting with NCP leader Sachin Ahir at At 10 am, said DNA report, adding that they are also mulling to meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as the aggregator firms aren’t responding to their demands, neither are they trying to establish any kind of communication them.

“At yesterday’s meeting the drivers said that they would rather run their vehicles for government-run aggregator app than work for Uber and Ola,” Sunil Borkar, secretary, Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh (MRRKS), told DNA.

The drivers are reportedly demanding higher fares amid soaring fuel prices among other things.
