These trains will have amenities like on-board Wi-fi and infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system and plush interiors with diffused LED lighting.
You may soon be able travel in world class trains that would be faster than our current premium trains like Shatabdi and Rajdhani express, said a Times of India report.
According to the report, the Indian Railways will introduce ‘first of its kind’ semi-high speed, self propelled train set which would cut down the travel time by at least 20% in comparison with any train drawn by a loco.
Indian Railways will reportedly launch two world class trains called as - Train 18 and Train 20.
The Chennai-based Railways’ Integral Coach Factory (ICF) has designed the sets of these world class train, and will manufacture the first with 16 fully air-conditioned coached by June of this year, said the report.
Train 20, however, is expected to be unveiled in the year 2020.
It is being expected that these two trains will have amenities like on-board Wi-fi and infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system and plush interiors with diffused LED lighting.
Rajdhani Express, which has been operational since 1969, can catch up to 140 km/h or 87 mph speed variation depending upon the particular track section from New Delhi to the capital cities of various states in India.
