Fog delays 11 Delhi-bound trains; 375 other trains cancelled today due to various reasons

As many as 11 Delhi bound trains were today delayed between two to six hours due to fog and other reasons. These trains are Sitamarhi-Anand Vihar Lichhavi Express, Malda-Delhi Farakka Express, Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express, Gaya-New Delhi Mahabodhi Express, Dibrugarh-Delhi Brahmaputra Mail, Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express, Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Vikramshila Express, Islampur-New Delhi Magadh Express, Haldia-Anand Vihar Express, and Rewa-Anand Vihar Rew Express.

On the other hand, as many as 375 trains including some Superfast and Mail Express have been cancelled today due to reasons like maintenance block and delay due to weather conditions.

A sudden change in weather and light rains have made Delhi shiver in cold. The maximum temperature settled at 22 degrees Celsius on Thursday, a notch above the season's average while the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal, said a Met department official. As per the Met office, there will be dense fog engulfing the city till Sunday.

On the other hand, northern belts are in a grip of cold and fog.

If you are also scheduled to undertake a journey by train today, then you must check the status of your train before leaving for the station. Indian Railways also sends SMS to its passengers in case of delay or cancellation of long-distance trains.
