The other Navratri is known as Sharad Navratri as it is celebrated during the autumn season. Day 1 of Chaitra Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Shailputri. As the legend goes, Goddess Shailputri is the daughter of Himalaya born in the house of the king of mountains.
