CBSE Class 10 Maths Paper: Union HRD ministry’s secretary Anil Swarup today said that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not conduct a retest of the Class 10 mathematics exams. “Consequent to the preliminary evaluation of the impact of reportedly leaked CBSE class 10 maths paper and keeping in mind the paramount interest of students, CBSE has decided not to conduct re-examination even in the states of Delhi NCR and Haryana. Hence, no re-exam for class 10,” Swarup said on Twitter.
Earlier, the board had stated that it would conduct a probe into the paper leak allegations for class 10 mathematics exam, and would decide if there is a need for a re-test or not. The board had also stated that if a re-test is conducted, it will be conducted only for Delhi NCR and Haryana students.
The CBSE, on March 28, had decided to re-look the mathematics exam conducted for class 10 board students hours after the exam was conducted. Anil Swaroop, the Secretary for School Education, at a press conference stated that the board was looking into the paper leak allegations, adding that in the preliminary probe it was found that the paper leak, if there was one, was limited only to Delhi NCR and Haryana region. Further, he stated that if re-examination was conducted, it will only be for students who appeared for the exam in Delhi NCR and Haryana, adding that the mathematics re-examination will be scheduled in July 2018.
