FSSAI issues new definitions for single malt and single grain whiskey
The food regulator says single malt whiskey will be the one made from only malted barley, in a still pot, at a single distillery. The new whisky norms will be implemented from March 1, 2024.
Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies has welcomed the steps of the FSSAI and said that the new definition would make it easier for the industry to identify whisky brands. Photo: Pixabay/Representational
