PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Rs 6,100-crore projects in Varanasi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated a host of development projects in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated a host of development projects worth more than Rs 6,100 crore in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This included several airport projects as well as development initiatives in the city. These development initiatives will significantly benefit the citizens in the future, "especially our yuva shakti", the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi also highlighted that his government remains committed to building infrastructure in the country.

The Prime Minister also pointed out that Kashi is a model city where development is taking place along with the preservation of heritage.
He also said his government has given new emphasis to the empowerment of women. "Society develops when the women and youth of the society are empowered," he said.
"Today is a very auspicious occasion for Kashi as he mentioned inaugurating RJ Sankara Eye Hospital earlier today," the PM said.
Referring to the development projects, the Prime Minister mentioned the inauguration of new airport terminals in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh including Babatpur Airport, and Sarsawa Airport of Agra and Saharanpur.
The Prime Minister also congratulated the people of Kashi and India for the latest development projects.

PM Modi highlighted that India’s airports and its magnificent buildings with amazing facilities are a topic of discussion all over the world. "In 2014, there were only 70 airports... Today, there are more than 150 airports along with the renovation work of the old airports... Last year, the construction of new facilities was completed at more than a dozen airports in the country which include Aligarh, Moradabad, Shravasti and Chitrakoot airports," the PM said.
The PM also said that it is his government’s constant endeavor to make Kashi and Purvanchal a major center of trade and business.
“Our Kashi is now becoming a very big center for sports," he said, highlighting the potential of young players of the city.
“Our Kashi is a multi-hued cultural city, with the holy Jyotirlinga of Lord Shankar, a Moksha Tirtha like Manikarnika and also a place of knowledge like Sarnath," the PM said.
