Mukesh Ambani announces launch of Reliance Jio

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) announced on Thursday that Reliance Jio will offer free voice calls and no roaming charges at the Annual General Meet (AGM). He said that Jio will put an end to charging for domestic voice calls.

He announced that Reliance Jio will be available for all starting on Monday, September 5.

He also released the tariff plans for Reliance Jio which starts from Rs 199 for a day plan to Rs 4,999 per month plan.

Ambani says Reliance Jio Has Capacity To Acquire 1 Million users a day.
He said that there will also be having a simple pricing structure. Everyone will have a plan which will not only fit their pricing but data needs.
Ambani said Reliance Jio will offer lowest data rates in the world.
“Reliance Jio covers 18,000 cities and 2 lakhs villages. Set to cover 90% population by March 2017,” said Ambani.
“Reliance Jio is an entire ecosystem with broadband, 4G devices. It has all IP network, future ready 5G, 6G,” said Ambani.
He further added, “India is ranked 155th for mobile broadband Internet access, out of 230 countries. With Jio, India’s rank will be among the top 10.”
