JSW Energy, Swaziland Electricity Co sign MoU for setting up thermal power plant

JSW Energy on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Swaziland Electricity Company (SEC) along with government of Kingdom of Swaziland for setting up a thermal power plant.

It said, "The capacity of power plant to be set up will decided by JSW Energy in consultation with SEC based on the coal resources found during the exploration of an area of approximately 16,000 hectares to be prospected by JSW Energy under a prospecting license granted to them."

Additionally,  JSW Energy and SEC plan to explore the possibility of exporting power to the neighbouring countries which are connected through a common transmission network. 

Shares of JSW Energy was trading at Rs 70.80 per share on BSE Sensex, down by 0.21% at 13.05 pm.
