India is known to be a 'small car' market but a refresh of a years' old Maruti Dzire  has shaken the notion. 

The sedan, launched in May, this year has become the top selling car and has managed to outsell even the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 by a huge margin for two months in a row now.

The Dzire is now not only the top selling car in Maruti Suzuki's portfolio but also the highest selling car in the country. It has overthrown Maruti Suzuki Alto, which has been the highest selling car for the longest period.

The Dzire sold 10,475 units more units than the Alto 800 in September and 9,413 units units more than the Alto 800 in August this year, according from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
