The Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCIS) data showed that imports of paper and paperboard jumped to 959,000 tonnes in April-September 2023-24 from 672,000 tonnes in the first half of FY2022-23.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued an order to implement PIMS from 1st October. Items with 201 different types of tariffs will be included. Importers will need to register with PIMS for Rs 500. You won't receive the import number until after this.
