Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde Air Purifier: A month with expensive piece of art
The purifier is also quite sensitive to odours and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Every time it detects some odour, the purifier will run in full swing to bring it down.
Air quality has been a cause of concern for long. Rapid urbanisation and never stopping construction work add to the poor air quality. While we all are concerned about outdoor air pollution, the one thing that we often overlook is poor indoor air quality. According to a study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), around 35 per cent of the Indian population is exposed to indoor air pollution. Long-term exposure to indoor air pollution can lead to various health issues, including respiratory ailments.
This is why air purifiers are in demand like never before. While there are several purifiers available in the price range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000, Dyson offers air purifiers at a much higher price. However, Dyson products are known for top-notch performance and the same holds true for this one. I have been using this for a month and here I am going to tell you my experience with the purifier. However, it is important to mention that this is not one of those months of the year when air pollution is at its peak.
Talking about the purifier, setting up is quite effortless. Also, Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde Air Purifier is quite lightweight and moving it from one part of the house to another is very easy.
Another great thing about this purifier is that it comes with a tiny remote and therefore you do not need to get up and move closer to the machine in order to turn it on or off. Despite being tiny, it lets you adjust almost everything that is required.
No matter how the air quality is, the purifier manages to clean the air in the room within a couple of hours. You can monitor the improvement in air quality on a small LCD display. It shows the kind of particles – PM 2.5, PM10 VOCs and NO2 – present in the air along with fan speed and air quality in real-time.
The purifier is also quite sensitive to odours and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Every time it detects some odour, the purifier will run in full swing to bring it down.
During my usage, I can clearly say that the air does feel fresher in a room the purifier is at work. Another noticeable feature is that it doesn't make much noise. If you don't want it to cool the air, there is a diffused mode that diverts airflow through the back. This will improve the air quality without changing the temperature of the room.
Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde Air Purifier (TP09) is available in two colour variants (white and gold) and is priced at Rs 49,899. This is quite expensive, but during my usage, I did feel the difference in air quality. However, it would not be easy to reach a conclusion in one month of usage as the device still needs to be tested during months when air pollution reaches its peak.
