D-Street Newsmakers: Bharti Airtel, UPL, Tata Power among stocks that made headlines today

Indian equities despite muted global markets ended on a buoyant note cheering India's CPI for the April month which came in at an 11-month low. Nifty added over 0.5 per cent and closed the session at 22,217.85.

Indian equities tracking positive domestic cues ended Tuesday’s session higher. At the close, Nifty ended at 22,217.85, gaining 0.51 per cent , while Sensex closed 0.45 per cent higher at 73,104.6. Meanwhile sectorally, Metals pack emerged as the outlier followed by Auto and Energy, while Pharma and FMCG were the laggards. Broader markets delivered a strong outperformance as Mid and Smallcap indices advanced by 0.98% and 2.03%, respectively.
