Stock market today: The domestic equity indices on Wednesday, September 27, opened lower amid weakness in global equity markets as investors continued to grapple with prospects of higher interest rates, denting economic growth.

BUZZING STOCKS
Vedanta shares were down nearly 5 per cent after Moody's downgraded the corporate family rating (CFR) of Vedanta Resources Ltd.
Prataap Snacks shares were down over 3 per cent after the Goods and Service Tax (GST) department conducted searches at the company's manufacturing unit in Bangalore.
Cement and IT stocks were a mixed bag after price hike reports.
Conversely, Borosil Renewables shares were up over 7 per cent after the Bombay High Court rejected the demand notice of Rs 1,952.5 crore issued by the Income Tax Department.
Manappuram Finance shares were up over 2 per cent after Elizabeth Mathew bought 43.5 lakh shares, 0.51 per cent at Rs 141.29 per share.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asia stocks traded mixed on Wednesday, and benchmark U.S. Treasury yields were near multi-year highs as investors sour on both stocks and bonds amid worries about the impact of higher-for-longer interest rates.
Wall Street's main indexes ended down over 1 per cent on Tuesday as 10-year Treasury yields held their multi-year highs, with investors still wrestling with prospects for a long period of high interest rates and the economic fallout.
