Biggest DA hike in 3 years
This is the biggest DA hike for Central government employees in the past 3 years. As of now, DA is 12%; and this has been hiked by 3% so far.
Harishankar Tiwari, Former Chairman of the AG Office Brotherhood, DA's Calculator, told Zee Business Digital that AICPI figures have increased between January and June 2019. The DA for June was 17.09% which is more than 5% as compared to December. That is why the government has increased it by this much.
This is how DA is calculated
-June 2019 : AICPI-316
-Total 12 months : 3673 (301+301+301+302+302+301+307+307+309+312+314+316)/12)-(261.4)*100/ 261.4)
-DA hike : 17%-12%=5%
Earlier, in Jan 2019, the government had hiked DA by 3 per cent. Generally, government announces DA hike before Dussehra in March and September.
