Budget 2024: FM Sitharaman presents Budget for 6th time; says Centre working to make India ‘Vikasit Bharat’ by 2047
The FM mentioned that for the farmers, the centre has raised the MSP, or minimum support price, periodically as well as appropriately, while continuing its focus on the rural economy.
On February 1, 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Interim Budget for the sixth time. In her speech, the FM said that in the last 10 years, the Indian economy has registered better performance and evolved under PM Narendra Modi, adhering to the mantra of "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas.”
Hoping for victory in the upcoming general assembly elections, the FM said, "Hope our government, with its stupendous work, will be blessed by the people again with a strong mandate.”
The FM mentioned that for the farmers, the centre has raised the MSP, or minimum support price, periodically as well as appropriately, while continuing its focus on the rural economy.
The FM added that the government's main focus should be on four major groups: Poor, Farmers, Youth and Women. The FM added that their needs and aspirations are the Centre's highest priority. "The country progresses when they progress."
Stressing the country’s efforts towards becoming a developed nation, the FM said, "We are working to make India a Vikasit Bharat by 2047."
She also noted that economic management over the past 10 years has encouraged people-centric development.
