IndiGo June Quarter Results: Profit rises to Rs 1,203 crore - Here are details
IndiGo said that its profit after tax in the June quarter increased over 42 times to Rs 1,203.10 crore compared to Rs 27.80 crore in the same quarter last year.
Domestic airline InterGlobc Aviation (IndiGo) today announced its result for first quarter of the financial year 2020. The airline said that its profit after tax in the June quarter increased over 42 times to Rs 1,203.10 crore compared to Rs 27.80 crore in the same quarter last year.
The company's revenue from operations increased 44.7 percent to Rs 94,20.1 crore for the quarter, against a 30.3 percent increase in capacity compared to same period last year. Total income for the quarter ended June 2019 was Rs 9,786.9 crore, an increase of 43.5 percent over the same period last year. For the quarter, the airline's passenger ticket revenues were at Rs 84,45.1 crore, an increase of 46.4 percent and ancillary revenues were Rs 9,026 million, an increase of 32.2 percent, compared to the same period
Total expenses for the quarter ended June 20 19 were INR 82,775 million, an increase of 22 .0% over the same quarter last year. Cost per available seat kilometer (CASK), an important measure to calculate airlines revenue, excluding fuel was Rs 2.11, a decrease of 2.8 percent over the same quarter last year. Excluding the impact of foreign exchange, its CASK excluding fuel increased by 2.6 percent for the quarter.
The company's CEO, Ronojoy Dutta said, "I am pleased to report our highest ever quarterly profit after tax of Rs 12 billion. Strong passenger revenues along with a sharp improvement in cargo performance were key drivers to this improved profitability"

As of June 30, 2019, lndiGo had a total cash balance of Rs 173,371 million comprising Rs 76,968 million of free cash and Rs 96,402 million of restricted cash.
