Lead prices were marginally higher by 0.15 per cent to Rs 166.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions following uptick in demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June edged higher by 25 paise, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 166.70 per kg in business turnover of 285 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in July was enquiring higher by 15 paise, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 167.60 per kg in 5 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders after demand picked up from battery-makers in the physical market mainly influenced lead prices at futures trade.
