Monsoon Session: Who worked more so far, Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha?
Parliament functioning has seen some disruptions during the Monsoon Session that began earlier this month. Despite that, productivity in the Lok Sabha touched 83% till July 25 and 75% in the Rajya Sabha, PRS Legislative data showed.
The data further showed that the Lok Sabha has worked for nearly 30 hours in the session as against 26.7 hours of the Rajya Sabha.
The highlight of the session is the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill which is expected to be tabled in the Upper House next week.
Maximum amount of time in the Rajya Sabha was spent in non-legislative activities (60%), with July 21 being the day of maximum time spent on these activities and no hours spent on legislative work.
Lok Sabha spent 37% of their time on non-legislative activities and 45% of the time on legislative activities in total.
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha spent 13% and 14% on answering questions respectively.
