Hurun Report on Tuesday released the sixth edition of its 'Hurun Global Rich List 2017' survey report, which is a list of the richest people in the world with a cut-off of $1 billion (nearly Rs 6,652.8 crore).

However, one tiny redeeming factor is a higher percentage of women billionaires under the age of 40. The report said, "There were 78 billionaires aged 40 or under, down one from last year. 46 are self-made with 32 inherited. USA and China led the way with 25 and 23, making up half the young billionaires. Facebook contributed the most billionaires under 40, with 4.16% are women."

Hurun's latest survey ranked 2,257 billionaires from 68 countries and from 1811 companies in another record-breaking year for the world's billionaires.

Of the 152 self-made women, Chinese women led the way of Hurun Global Rich List this year with a staggering 79.5%, followed by 14 from the USA and 8 from the UK.
