Same WhatsApp account on multiple phones: This is something a lot of users have been requesting for a long. Now users can link their phone as one of up to four additional devices, the same as when you link with WhatsApp on web browsers, tablets and desktops. Each linked phone connects to WhatsApp independently, ensuring that your personal messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted, and if your primary device is inactive for a long period, we automatically log you out of all companion devices.

Status sharing more convenient: A lot of WhatsApp users want to post their Status on their Facebook Story. Whatsapp recently introduced an optional feature that makes it easier for people to post their WhatsApp Status to their Facebook Story automatically if they want to do so. As always, users are in control: Sharing is turned off by default; you have to opt-in to use it, and can disable it at any time you want to.

Keep in Chat on WhatsApp: WhatsApp has introduced “Keep in Chat,” to let users can hang on to texts they need for later, with a special superpower for the sender. To make this work, the sender will be notified when someone keeps a message, and the sender will have the ability to veto the decision. If you’ve decided your message can’t be kept by others, your decision is final, no one else can keep it and the message will be deleted when the timer expires. This way you have the final say on how messages you send are protected.

WhatsApp allows adding descriptions to forwarded messages: WhatsApp now allows users to add descriptions to forwarded images, videos, GIFs, and documents on Android, which is currently available to some beta testers.

New security feature to double-check if it's really you: Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced new security features to the platform, including -- Account Protect, Device Verification, and Automatic Security Codes, which the company will be adding in the coming months. Now, the company will double-check that it's really you when you switch your WhatsApp account to a new device -- using the 'Account Protect' feature.
