The mood was upbeat in the nation, as it was in the market, which ended higher for the third consecutive day.

The BSE Sensex climbed 213.27 points, or 0.33 per cent, to settle at 65,433.30.

The NSE Nifty gained 47.55 points, or 0.25 per cent, to end at 19,444 as 29 of its components ended in the green while 22 declined.

Aerospace and defence stocks grabbed the limelight on the landing day of Chandrayaan-3. Market sentiment on Thursday is also expected to be upbeat given the euphoria surrounding the moon landing.

At around 8:03 am on Thursday, August 24, the GIFT Nifty futures traded 83.1 points, or 0.43 per cent, lower at 19,515, suggesting a positive opening of the market.

Coforge 

A block deal of 1.63 crore shares is likely today. Promoter Hulst BV (Baring Private Equity Asia) may sell the entire 26.63 per cent stake in the company at a floor price for the block deal of Rs 4,550, a 7.4 per cent discount to the current market price.

Aerospace, defence stocks

Shares of companies related to the aerospace and defence sectors were in the limelight on Wednesday, and some of them also touched a 52-week high.

Centum Electronics, Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd, MTAR Technologies, and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd soared higher on the BSE.

HAL also touched a 52-week high on Thursday.

Shares of L&T Bharat Forge, Astra Microwave Products, and Larsen & Toubro also closed on a high note.

These shares will be in focus when the market opens on Thursday.

Procter & Gamble Health

The health company is all set to announce its first-quarter results on Wednesday and will be in focus a day later.

Coal India

Coal India Limited (CIL) Chairman and Managing Director PM Prasad stated on Wednesday that there is sufficient coal stock available in the country and the company is prepared to address any sudden increase in demand.

The Chairman also informed shareholders in the AGM on Wednesday that CIL is ready to list its subsidiaries, Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. (BCCL) and Coal Mine Planning and Design Institute of India Ltd. (CMPDI).

GAIL

India's top gas firm, GAIL (India) Ltd., plans to invest Rs 30,000 crore in the next three years as it expands petrochemical capacity and scouts for LNG supplies globally, its chairman, Sandeep Kumar Gupta, said on Wednesday.

The nation's top gas marketing and transportation firm is looking at liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a transport fuel, joining Essar-promoted GreenLine, which operates the nation's largest LNG-powered fleet of heavy commercial vehicles.

TVS Supply Chain 

TVS Supply Chain Solutions Ltd. made a muted debut on the bourses on Wednesday, as it ended the day with a premium of 2 per cent against the issue price of Rs 197.

The stock was listed at Rs 206.30, up 4.72 per cent from the issue price on the BSE.

During the day, it jumped 5.83 per cent to Rs 208.50 before settling at Rs 200.95.

It will be interesting to see if it maintains momentum, gathers pace, or loses grip during trade on Thursday.

RIL

Reliance Industries (RIL) on Wednesday announced that Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), through a wholly-owned subsidiary, will invest Rs 8,278 crore into its retail arm, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL).

"This investment values RRVL at a pre-money equity value of Rs 8.278 lakh crore," Reliance Industries said in a regulatory filing. RRVL, through its subsidiaries and associates, operates India's largest retail business with an integrated omni-channel network of over 18,500 stores.

Jio Financial Services

The share of Jio Financial Services continued its lacklustre show on the Street as it fell 5 per cent to hit the lower circuit limit for the third straight session on Wednesday.

The stock declined 5 per cent to Rs 227.25 on the BSE. 

Union Bank of India 

The board will consider issuing a price for Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) today. 

Adani Transmission

The company will change its name to Adani Energy Solutions.

Torrent Pharma  

The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) completed an inspection of the Dahej facility of the company and issued an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR).

Reliance Industries 

Qatar Investment Authority (Sovereign Wealth Fund of the State of Qatar) will invest Rs 8,278 crore in subsidiary Reliance Retail Ventures where it will get a 0.99 per cent stake in subsidiary Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd.

Vascon Engineers

The company received a letter of acceptance from Bihar Medical Services & Infrastructure Corporation Ltd. for an order worth Rs 605.65 crore to build Lohia Medical College, Hospital, and Residential Building.

TVS Motors 

The company launched a two-wheeler electric scooter, the TVS X. With the launch of TVS X, the company will set a new global benchmark.

Tata Communications

The company plans to raise Rs 1,750 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs).

Control Print 

The company's buyback opens today. It will run until August 30.
